    Missed the delivery yesterday, even though the girlfriend was home. Says no one even knocked on the door when they tried to deliver. Aaargh! I hate that!

    Question for Warren or a BERG brain who may be floating - were the advertisers specificity approached or are they people you (BERG) have a relationship with?

    I assume the latter, I'm just curious because they fit the entirety of the piece really well.

    Got it yesterday...and slightly spookily on the same day as the August issue of Harper's, which featured the article "Visible Man: Ethics in a World Without Secrets" by Peter Singer.

    I've got to admit, having read it with the torch now, that I'm kind of sad that the comic holds together so well without it. I thought the torch mechanic would enable some really interesting stuff where people make apparently unreasonable decisions and the ending seems nonsensical, while the torch reveals the inner goals and "offscreen" interactions of the characters. I suppose you'd possibly need a longer format to introduce enough characters properly to do that, though.

    Read it this morning. Really enjoyed it and was impressed by how Warren was able to elevate it above its gimmiky nature and used the hidden thoughts to add depth to some of the scenes, such as the scene where we see the love that lies underneath a bickering couple. The "I wanted the scanner" was a laugh out loud moment, while having "That's a nice torch. It won't help you." on the last page was nice and creepy. I'd definitely buy a follow up.

    got it, read it and found it a fun read. Mr. Ellis never disapoints
    the torch added to the story. It felt like I was part of the story. There was a moment when I was reading the comic right after I just gave my torch a once over and when the character described the torch while I was holding it in my hand, it put a smile to my face. Like the protagonist might show up at my doorstep looking for the SVK. nicely done.

    and there is definitely something there with this type of technology, but i did notice problems.

    First off the torch itself is glitchy. It has two lights, one turns on fine, but the other one blinks like a defective neon light. Have to ask for new one.
    Also, the only way to even get a chance at reading the invisible words I had to turn off lights in my room and read the book in the dark.
    3rd some of the invisible ink bled to the other side of paper on some instances and second some of the words in the invisble ink were so blurry I couldn't read anything.
    Plus there was a huge strain in my eyes in trying to read the invisible words I could read.
    But these are technical issues that could be resolved with time if they decide to continue to do these type of comics.

    Yes sir, Mr. Ellis. I know, just assumed their may be more considering you never get the best results with just one experiment.

    Still, what was the end result of this experimental venture?
    Was it a success? Was it as expected? Was it a failure?

    Got mine last week but I only arrived home yesterday after 3 weeks working in Bang&Olufsen's hq. I only read it without the torch and I felt in love with the story, it's a really good concept. Tomorrow I'll read with the torch.

    Got mine today and enjoyed the hell out of it. Torch worked great and the UV ink was nice and bright. Even though the ink bled through and transferred here and there, it was always obvious what was printed and what wasn't (in mine at least), so it was a non-issue.

    I'm sorry to hear this won't be the first of more to come--loved the concept (and the Thomas Woodwind character!). Hopefully the decision to do a one-off was preordained, and not the result of hassles, unmet expectations, or other unpleasantness...

    We published SVK two weeks ago today — it sold out the whole run of 3,500 copies in 48 hours (more copies went to advertisers and contributors). We’ll shortly print our second run!

    Anyone else order from Australia and have theirs? Mine are yet to arrive, and I was wondering if the delay was due to our particularly lackadaisical postal service.
