    It's Friday, it's FREAKANGELS.

Drive-by post this morning as I've got work open in another window that, in a perfect world, would have been done yesterday. How's everyone doing?

I was refreshing the page feverishly, and read piggishly, only two more to go. AAAArrrrrgggghhhh! Wish I was able to exercise more restraint.

I always wondered whether there was room in the world for the Freakangels and the rest of us. It's been great watching them deal with that very question.

Doing great Ariana - the fact that it's a FreakAngels Friday always helps things immensely, even if we are creeping closer to that eventual Friday when there will be . . . no more . . (sniff) . . . can barely bring myself to say it. FA has been a part of my Friday mornings for a good three years now and has always kind of symbolized the end of the work week for me (in much the same way that that damned ticking on 60 Minutes TV program always symbolized the end of the weekend for me when I was a kid . . . I hate that damned ticking!!!).

A couple months back I predicted that the FA's would fix everything and then step into a "time bubble" so as to be unreachable by the authorities and be in a position to reach back into time and rectify some of their more major screw ups (like fixing things everytime someone is shot/shoots oneself in the head). It looks like I was thinking in the right direction, but naturally the way Warren and Paul are doing it is about a million times more interesting than anything I pictured in my head.

Other than that, I'm looking forward to a "normal" weekend having the full family back in the household after a chaotic couple of weeks where we all had our own things going on and were scattered to the four cardinal directions. Family is good. I missed them.

This next week is going to drag on far too long for my liking.

I love the way these characters have developed and I'm going to miss them all hugely when this ends. But the way that Connor and Arkady have pulled it all together to lead rather than being side-lined or over-looked (there's no such thing as a minor character in Warren's work - I should know this by now) has definitely secured this series a special place in my heart. There's no doubt about it, I'm going to have to sell a kidney and maybe a couple of other organs to get the super deluxe editions of all the books.

Mr Ellis & Mr Duffield, Thank You.

    Three more.

I can't say that I'm stoked about them just leaving. I hope they at least explain to someone (besides Alice, who would seem a bit like John the Baptist, lone nutter spouting shit about Freakangels to the rest of the world, despite how bizarre the past few years had been) what happened, who they were, all that. And I'm not really on board with just bugging out after fixing the hole but not working on the aftermath like they did with Whitechapel proper... I dunno. It just seems more like running away to me, and that's not really what they've been about for most of this volume.

I'll reserve final judgment for the last ep (and probably a long time after that, giving it time to process), but I can't say that I'm terribly happy with them right now. Not that I don't like the comic, I'm just very disappointed in their decision. So far.

That said, I love how Paul gives even the most seemingly mundane conversation scene the most interesting poses. Even Alice's half-smile in panel two is great. I'm really going to miss your art, Paul (and company), and I really hope you get a regular gig after this.

As for me, this week I got accepted to school (interior design, heh), picked up my daughter from three weeks at the in-laws, and... that's about it. Big day of errands and chores today. And a month and a half to prepare for school after three years out of it.

Now I want to read the pre-FA story where Arkady is messing with people at markets!

And I'm happy they decided to go the we-belong-in-the-future route rather than the we-need-to-self-sacrifice-and-die route. I was afraid it was going in that direction. Next strip- future world?

Well, my wife just found out she's getting laid off next week, thanks to the state shut-down, so we're ... kind of in a situation now.

Which sort of takes the polish off the weekend, yeah?

The last few moments of this look to be unfolding beautifully, both story and art. Both are singing at their absolute bests right now, and it's great.

I'm having the same feeling with Freak angels as I did when I read the end of Planetary.

It's ending right when its getting good. My inner child is screaming "it's not fair" I want Paul Duffield and Warren to keep cranking out Freakangel stories till the day they die:)

Seriously, Thank You Mr. Ellis. Your stories are satisfying and they stimulate my brain like a good cold beer. Hmm. Beer.

And Mr. Duffield I will be keeping an eye on your future projects. You have impressed, not in just your art, but in your ability to crank it out with such a diffcult schedule. Unlike some artists, You are a craftsman and a profesional.

@Berserker Yeah, pretty much what happened in my former household. Its tough all over.

It angers me that so many people like your wife, and my mother, lost their job simply because a certain party.....No this is politics. Not a part of this thread. I wish you the best of luck, Berserker. That in the end you and your family, hell all families, will pull through the tough times.

I'm sad. Need lots of beer but I'm at work. Wait, its friday! and my friend has access to a pool!! 1+1 = FUN!

Sorry, I think I drank too much caffeine.

Awesome. Ending on a high note. And Connor looks amazing at the end.
  6.  (10013.14)
Ok week, can't wait to go on vacation!

Greatest Ellis' story next to Planetary!
And Paul's art is pure magic!
  7.  (10013.15)
I am enjoying just reading a new episode this week. And what an episode it is.

This is not what I anticipated, but it is consistent with what happened earlier. This will wrap up soon, and the ending of the story is unfolding with the high quality of the beginning of this work.

    Thanks Warren and Paul.

Last week was the end of my job. I have an interview for a new, better (and better paying) job in a week and a half. So the idea of stepping into the future is vibrating my little skull right now. It's little resonances between the personal and the grand that make reading Freakangels that much more enjoyable. Thanks, Warren and Paul and everyone, for all the hard work!

The Freakangels are like the Cylons, "They have a plan."

Joking aside, this has been one of the single best ongoing comic, online or otherwise, I have read in a good long while. As other posters have said, Freakangels stands neck and neck with Planetary, and I posit, Transmetropolitan. In fact I need to purchase Freakangels vol 6 and Transmet vol 10 to complete my collection. The art has been pure nirvana, and I wish Paul Duffield all the best and a good long career as a comic artist.

Thank you Warren Ellis, Paul Duffield, and Avatar Press for putting out a weekly comic for several years, and such high quality. I will miss FreakAngels.

My mum lost her job this morning, my living room has bedbugs, I'm skating the edge of two deadlines, and I wasted all of yesterday watching Netflix and reading Facebook. I needed FreakAngels today!

Really good episode today, boys and girls. Damn good. I just don't know what else to say :)
