    Freakangels is drawing to an end. That’s a pisser.

    You all know, by now, that at some point in the not-too-distant future Avatar will be launching a new free weekly webcomic – same setup as FA – set in the “Crossed” universe. It’s written by me, it’ll launch later in the year, and you can read about its sticky horribleness here.

    But I hereby declare, oh rancid lovelies, that you are the First To Know:

    There is Another Skywalker.

    A separate Avatar webcomic. Which, all being well, will hit your glowboxes even before Crossed.

    It is huge. It is weird. And I can’t tell you a bloody thing about it.

    1st rule of comics, right? SHOW DON’T TELL.

    So here’s a little work-in-progress gift for being so cocking marvellous:

    Pricktease-the-first

    Pricktease-the-second

    My first thought: we've got creepy twins (or what might be twins) giant mushrooms...are we going through the looking glass? Getting looking-glassed right in the face?

    Intriguing and intriguinger.

    I really hope the comic is named Pricktease, like those pics are. This looks like it'll be worth a look.

    This intrigues me.
    Crossed, I'm sorry to say it Si, just isn't my cup of tea. So I'm glad we're getting more than one comic.

    It's clearly an adaption of Honey I Shrunk The Kids. Those are anthropomorphic curry turds in the top one and the bottom one speaks for itself.

    I got it! It's 'Our Gang' in space, 'Lord of the Flies' style. Don't you see it? Buckwheat has the knife & Spanky is holding Froggy. Froggy finaly getting what he deserves for eating all their crackers & not buying any lemonade & his annoying voice.

    I want need a date on the Crossed web comic. It's like crack!!!!

    Yeah, very understandable.

    For what it's worth, Crossed: Wish You Were Here is going to be a lot less "how Nasty can we get?" (though fans of Nasty will not be disappointed) than other Crossed series, and a lot more about people attempting to build lives amidst horror. With some slightly experimental metafictional weirdness built-in too.

    Still, I get that Apocalyptic Horror isn't everyone's mug of mank. Luckily, I tend to think this other series - unmentionable and indescribable though it currently remains - is less of a genre-jump from Freakangels than something like Crossed. It's still a very different beast to Warren's opus, but... overlapping in some ways.

    Splendid guesswork from all, by the way. Hideously inaccurate, but splendid.

    @Oddcult

    surely you mean Honey i shrunk the incredibly twisted redneck bastards?

    @Si

    the fact that your setting it orkney (Why???? Shetland would be so much better!... ahem) will be breaking it out of the US feel and making it more like Neil Marshall's Doomsday, i hope....

    Well, I'll give it a shot then. :)

    It's Gnomes - The Gritty Truth, isn't it?
    Urban Decay among the mushroom kingdoms, knifing each other to get that lick of Gold now the Leprechaun banks have gone under.

    I was going to go on, but realised that if I'm wrong I'm into fiction creating, so I stopped.

    More Crossed is fine by me!

    But what the fuck is going on in that second image?!?! Does that guy owe Strawberry Shortcake money?
  6.  (10039.17)
    A "Crossed" comic that isn't a total gory orgy, and a new comic? Oh Si, you're spoiling me....

  7.  (10039.18)
    So it's called "Disenchanting" (2nd paragraph). Neat! Sounds like anti-Fables, although obviously there's just not enough info to go by yet. The title and those giant mushrooms make me think of a fairy tale gone wrong. Or at least, how we think of fairy tales today, because those images fit quite nicely into the non-sugar-coated originals.

    Either Rich misheard or William misspoke. Series title is DISENCHANTED.

    More filthy prickteasery soon, hoprefully.
