At the time, it was like he was trying to marshal an army and lead a revolution to get the kind of medium that he wanted, and I remember the last column being so full of rage and frustration that a moment of pure potential was lost to torpor and laziness.

Ten+ years later, and the industry has never developed, except out on the margins, enough self-respect to start acting like anything other than an IP-generating service for Hollywood.
