I was at OSL Airport Gardermoen today, on a flight from Oslo to Bergen after the bombings but just before the bomb threat to the airport that had all of the main airport searched and a lot of police and shit over there. Timing. And nothing has happened to me nor anyone I know, but a good friend of mine has two cousins at the youth camp island where the lunatic shot (from what I have heard) close to 80 people. I have no idea what to say to all these people right now, it's just too much. Also this big flowering of nationalism, patriotism and norwegians flags on facebook, racist comments flying around etc has me really disturbed. These are weird times.
edit: apparently some newspapers say 10 dead, some say 80 plus, etc. None of us have any idea what's going on, really. Also they gave out the name of the person who's in custody, it seems. Don't know what to think about it. It seems it was indubitably he who did it, but I'm still more than sceptical of having someone be the big scapegoat before he had his run before judge and jury. Really.
Really glad to hear you and your friends are OK Oda, and I hope your friend's cousins are safe.
From what I recall of the london underground bombings I was a bit shaken even after I found out my sister and other london-based friends were ok. Big sugary cups of tea should help.
The PM made a classy speech tho, and the arrest of the clearly non-muslim/arabic/jihadist guy should quell some of the ugly kneejerk racist reaction you mention (I hope), though I can also see why you'd be concerned about the skape-goating.
