Cool! I'll probably be hosting again in October, so I'll cook up a turducken or some other decadent roast. Beer and roast meat can't be beat.

Good times, guys. Every beer at the Town Crier was delicious, but if we're going to do a Quardupel night, I'm in.

So good to finally spend time with you, Bill! You can probably delete the last fifty or so pictures on your camera; I recall just holding the shutter down for a minute or two there. I left at just the right time, as my friend was just bunking down to sleep in her car down the street when I got home. No clue what happened to Patrick, but at least he wasn't in the shape you and Ian were in. :)

@allana, those pictures at the end are probably going to become animated gifs next week. I think you photographically documented my telling of the catheter extraction story, judging by the many expressive hand gestures I am making in them.

It was great to meet you at last!

Hopefully Patrick will pop back in soon and let us know he is good, and also not mad if he returned and were all gone. We did try to find you, Mister Hex!

Curse all you "we go out and be all social and have fun" people. But I suspect I could top the catheter extraction story (or at least hang with it) with my catheter self insertion story. (Short version... you NEVER want to have to do that). For the long version, I'd need beer. And possibly hugs afterwards.

Is it sad that I totally read all these threads regardless of where people are meeting up? Probably.

@Glukkake, it's either got to be Thursday or Saturday night... if Thursday we can try invading Dorkmuffin's friend's Chelsea art opening. (And being on our BEST BEHAVIOR!). If Saturday, we can do whatever.

    What do you think?

My schedule is clear on both days, surprisingly.
Apparently I'll be living in Manhattan/East Village for the next two weeks (housesitting for a fellow off at Burning Man) so I'll be close to everything.

Mad? Is that what they're calling me now? MAD? (oH, Wait. Bill's American and can't speak english properly. Not like ME, anyway. HAHAAHHAHAHAHAHA!)

No, I'm fine, why do you ask? (And YES, I rode my insane death-trap of a bike out to the suburbs. But not before I smoked that joint nobody wanted. I'm insane, I'm NOT crazy.)

Seriously, Bill, great to see you. And you're always welcome in Toronto, Retarded Giant Of The North. (Alls you other Whitechapel people oughtta get yourself up here and see with your own eyes, or perhaps, eyes rented from one of our many eye-rental shops, the wonders of my home town. IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU.) Toronto's kinda like the X-Men : we welcome you and HOPE YOU SURVIVE THE EXPERIENCE. Also, we're the best there is at what we do, so it was nice to have you join us.

FC took a passel of photos and hasn't posted a blasted one.

Well, even though I missed what sounds like yet another epic night, I'm really glad I got to see you guys during the day. And yeah, the Town Crier is a great pub and the Le Trappe is just wonderful stuff.

But the company was far better than the beer. I always enjoy talking with you folks.

And now I have two photos.

    MANTIS! MAAAAAAAAANTISSSS!

For those of you following along at home, FC had a giant effing Mantis on her neck and none of us noticed. The waitress says, "do you know there is something on you?" and we look and, like, God DAMN!

Ian or Patrick removed it, I can't remember which as my brain stem was flooding my sensory arrays with "don't get it on you!".

It was removed whole and in full operational health, and encouraged to go terrorize other Canadians elsewhere.

@Glukkake, join me and let us storm Chelsea Thursday night. Who else is with us?

@John Skylar, @Artenshiur, are you with us for Thursday night?

    Anyone else in NYC?
  3.  (10126.57)
Sorry, been away from the whitechapel running around like a headless chicken trying to plan my discussion series. Now recovering.

If I were to make a commitment to Thursday night I'd be double-booking myself...what time are we talking about here? Double booking might be very doable.

It looks like the opening reception is from 6 to 8 PM. So, meet at the gallery in Chelsea between 6 and 6:30, bother Dorkmuffin a bit, admire Olivia Coffey's lovely pieces, then find a place to drink and talk?

@John Skylar, if you are double booking, when are you available? Maybe we can arrange it all to work.

And for some reason every day since, I've noticed photos of mantises wherever I go. I certainly had no idea they existed in Toronto - now i see them on every other Flickr group I am a part of or 500px page i flip through.

@Mister Hex: We take photos of you because you've got a lot of character. Case in point,
