Fellow Londoners: take care, stay out of harm's way. I need you all.

At the risk of contributing to an unhelpful air of exaggeration: It's All Gone Straight To Tits Out There.

    Tits

all safe where I am, but brothers not allowed into his flat in hackney and another friend in croydon is keeping an eye on the fires...

i'm keep an eye on areas hit, so far i've got ealing, croydon, woolwich, colliers wood, mitcham, ilford, hayes, harrow... not to mention birmingham and leeds. also power cuts in soho/west end.

    it's disgusting.

http://thewestlondoner.wordpress.com/2011/08/08/more-london-disturbances-tonight/ is a good place to keep ontop of it, however he's getting over-run with info it seems.

Got to say, here in Finsbury Park it's all quiet. Despite the best efforts of anxious, expectant tweeters.

    Best wishes to all Londoners.

Not sure if this'll work as a video...

...if not, make clicky HERE. Truly inspirational dose of reality, from a fucking fearless lass, for the Hackney rioters.

Haven't heard anything directly but I have seen reports that Birmingham and Leeds are both seeing disturbances too.

    Take care, you guys.

Appears it's been taken down, which is a shame. Either that or my web-fu is made of fishpaste and string, and that can't be possible.

Found another link to that video, Si. (Takes a while to show up) I applaud that woman.

And apparently Cameron is flying back to London. From the BBC: "The prime minister is returning early from holiday to chair a meeting of the government's emergency committee Cobra."

yeah, boris too, was announced an hour or so ago. possible talks of using water cannons (might also help with the fires?)

unconfirmed riots in several other locations, am utterly disgusted. this isn't what londoners do!

This is an awesome page that's tracking events

In other news, Ed Milliband just commented "What is clear is that these riots are wrong."

Nice to know he's got his thumb on the pulse of the nation.

My mate in Woolwich is saying the High Street has gone up. Seen a photo of the Wetherspoons on fire.
Nothing on the BBC yet (can't get Sky in my room)

A Wikileaks tweet: "Wretched media coverage on London protests from BBC to Al Jazeera. Not a single protester interviewed. Absolutely pathetic."

Does anyone know what the hell they're talking about? Are there protests going on somewhere, instead of riots? I've read about reporters fleeing from stuff being hurled at them.

Al Jazeera currently interviewing an eyewitness to a Croydon fire. They're apparently having difficulties getting enough people out on the street to report.
