Lost in the weekend's hoopla over Hurricane Irene (which thank favorite Spaghetti Monster was not worse) was the realization that August 28 is the late Jack Kirby's birthday. To belatedly mark the occasion comes this nice tribute to one of Kirby's excellent non-superhero stories.
Do you like comics? I recently reread Ronin Ro's bio of Jack - and there was a bit that (I'm paraphrasing) outlined WHY he's important - "Without Jack, there'd be no Fantastic Four, Dr Doom, Captain America, X-Men, Magneto, Black Panther, Silver Surfer, Galactus, Inhumans, Nick Fury, Howling Commandos, Thor, Asgard, Loki ... " and several others. And that's only MARVEL. Fourth World? Boy Commandos? Newsboy Legion? Challengers of the Unknown?
The fact that Stan Lee is a millionaire, a celebrity and still a going concern MAKES ME MAD ENOUGH TO PUNCH OUT GOD!

I don't get why artists want to work with these parasites. If they'll fuck over the man who made them what they are, Jim-Bob Fanguy doesn't stand a chance.
