Also, why did Fauxlivia keep talking about her Broyls like he's still alive...did I miss something or did they not find him mutilated in the Faulivia exchange? Is this a "he got back alive cuz Peter never existed" thing? Don't think I like it if that's the case.

It's a "he's alive 'cause Peter never existed" thing. If you trace it back to his death in Season 3, he dies when his mass is exchanged for Fauxliva's as she extracts a sedated Peter. If Peter didn't exist, this wouldn't have happened, hence Colonel Broyles is still on the scene. That said, if/when the team find out about Peter, they may have to make a decision between getting Peter back and returning alt-Broyles to having-been-dead-all-along, which could prove interesting...

In the first episode (?), the Observers said something like 'They will not remember him. The child never became a man'. Though it's still kind of vague, I think he still existed as a child, and Walter still did the world-jumping kidnap, but then Peter died (perhaps in the lake accident?). On that basis, the writers are actually being pretty good with the causality: you'd still get the pattern unfolding, weird shit, thin spots, amber deployment in the betaverse, a hostile Walternate on the warpath, and so on. Hmm?

After not talking about long dead brother (which poor sis blames herself for) Rich sis (for some reason) "commits suicide". Poor sis does the only logical thing, assumes her "dead" twin's identity (for some reason) discovering rich sis was in a loveless marriage, having an affair with her best friend's (no reason these two would be friends) husband and pregnant. Who's the daddy? Throw in teenage stepdaughter, AA meetings, being fake pregnant, the cops, the mob, and shooting a masked assailant before the "surprise" ending: Rich sis faked her death (for some reason) and is actively plotting against poor sis! ... (for some reason)!
