Gus's final act is to neaten his tie. Damn, what a great character.
Hector too. Didn't speak a word, but boiling with hate. DING DING DING DING DING!
* * * I watched the final episodes of Stargate: Universe over the weekend. It was never a top favorite of mine, but in retrospect it was a very smart show, doing a good job of depicting people in a very tough position, with a minimum of magic bullshit technology.
A friend reminded me that in the flashback a few episodes back where we see the "origin" of Gus, that the crime boss didn't kill him because of "who he is," so prior to even being a big time meth dealer he was a big enough deal that a major cartel leader was hesitant to kill him...
I think Walter will have enough trouble dealing with Hank . . . and his own flaws . . . to make Season 5 interesting, even without dragging the Chileans into it.
Last we saw Hank, he was literally back on his feet after taking shit from Hector.
And god help Walter if . . .
. . . Jessie ever visits and sees that goddamn plant.
The last time he spun the gun it landed on the plant. DETAILS!
@Grease - I wonder why I didn't catch that! Weird.
I am SUPER stoked that they're doing a wrap-up and ending it there. I think the real climax of the series just happened, and the 5th season will be a victory lap.
That last episode of Community was absolutely amazing. It did what Community does best - stories that are heartfelt and with purpose (every single joke is in service of the character and their relationships), while simultaneously being post-modern and absolutely hilarious (Chekov's gun, the cigarette joke, the tag and so many more). Best comedy on TV at the moment.
@Solario - Community had not been bad the last few weeks, but it had not been on it's A-game. It is now back to it's A-game. And I, for one, am super excited.
I finally listened to my friends and started watching Fringe.
I'm currently up to episode 14 of Season 3 and enjoying it immensely.
The whole "We messed with that which Man Was Not Meant To Know" angle is somewhat annoying as is Walter's omnicompetence. (He's one of them Science Fellas so its perfectly natural that he should know all about psychology; pharmacology' anatomy; particle physics, computers; chemistry etc. etc. etc ad nauseum - and that he can pick up seamlessly where he left off 19 years ago when he was committed.)
I tried watching the new season of Family Guy this week. HORRIBLE travesty of a once hilarious show, to the point where I can barely enjoy old Family Guy.
New Futurama had a shaky start - too much unnecessary titillation with Leela stripping off almost every episode, for one - but it's settled back into a nice comedic SF groove.
Death Valley (from MTV) is a mockumentary following the Undead Task Force of the San Fernando Valley as they cope with the emergence of Zombies, Vampires and werewolves.
"Your vampires are the douchebags of the monster community."
Bryan Callen as the UTF Captain has great comedic timing and delivery. His character has this gift fro saying just that little bit too much.
Greeting a just-arrested vampire hooker at the station. "Hey, it's Esperanza, my favorite prostitute. Not that I have a favorite prostitute. Not in this country anyway."
Lost Girl is essentially a Canadian Buffy knock-off.
After the season ending of Breaking Bad I was looking for something different to watch. I just started Game of Thrones, the first 2 episodes. Holy crap, I like this a lot.
