    Pop History #32.

    Shocker was Wes Craven's largely forgotten 1989 attempt at kickstarting another franchise as successful as the Elm Street movies became. By 1989, however, the semi-corporeal slasher/boogeyman genre was tapped out, and Shocker faded from sight with poor reviews and lacklustre box office takings. It's well worth a look these days as a cheesy 80's time capsule, starring a pre X-Files Mitch Pileggi as hulking electric-powered supernatural slasher Horace Pinker, and there's a respectable soundtrack featuring Iggy Pop, Megadeth, and The Dudes Of Wrath.
