One thing you can do if you are unable to import RAW into PS or LR is to convert the file to a DNG, Adobe's proprietary RAW format. (Stands for 'Digital Negative' NOT 'Dolce & Gabbana' like my friend the gay russian cabaret dancer thought) I believe Pentax will let you shoot directly in DNG, which makes it easier to import in to Adobe software. The benefits are worth the extra file size in my opinion, especially because it preserves the master of the file untouched so that if you ever want to revert to the original and rework it then all of the work you have done up to that point has been non-destructive. Also, being able to make adjustments to White Balance and correct exposure within four stops is pretty hard to argue with. On a related note, looking forward to seeing some of you guys here in NYC for a pint!
Actually, I just got a hold of Lightroom 3 (yarr!) and have been able to work in RAW without things getting buggered up (the above photo was sort of a test in that regard). Thanks for the tips!
Photobucket's pretty solid, but they delete nudes and anything else they consider inappropriate. You can mostly get around this by giving all your photos innocuous titles.
Just got back from a trip to Lebanon, well, mainly Beirut. A highlight was a trip to Byblos, where the word 'Bible' comes from. It's also, apparently, thought to be the oldest continuously-inhabited city in the world.
@Bankara, Thanks a lot! I'm lucky enough to be living in the middle east for the moment, so I'm trying to make the most of it. Here's a couple of Beirut;
