I'm throwing in a shameless plug. Just launched a webcomic entitled Bloodless. It's a fantasy about revenge with the always fun mix of sex, intrigue, and a dash of the old ultraviolence! :)
Weird science fiction/philosophy nature/nurture questions (and especially see the brilliant alternate interpretation on the ending that even the author liked (by msouth :) in the comments after you get to the end))
One of the things I love most about this strip is that the author just meant to do a few, put her friends in the strip as a team of zombie apocalypse survivors doing scavenging runs, etc, and it took on a life of its own
Yeah, yet another D&D based comic, but you really get attached to the characters and he takes the story telling seriously, especially over the years as he's grown in his craft (my interpretation).
This is beautiful art, the story is fun. Even the dark stuff is presented with humor--so it's much, much lighter than Freakangels, but a really well done webcomic.
More zombie apocalypse stuff, definitely on the lighter side humor wise, but also some dark. I'm still evaluating it but it's definitely got some stuff going for it, I think.
Others have already mentioned gunnerkrig and kukuburi, I would put them in the latter category as well.
(All the links I give here are to the first pages--sometimes sites rearrange their links and it kills direct links. In each case, should that happen, you should be able to search for the title plus the word "webcomic" in google and find it easily.)
Don't know if many people still visit these pages, but recently I started reading samurais blood and I kinda like it. Keenspot has more material worthwile, like makeshiftmiracle and fall out toy works.
