That track has one of the awesomest bass lines in the history of bass lines. Plus, it reminds me of my teens, so...

Aesop Rock & Kimya Dawson have teamed up and are doing some incredible stuff. I saw them the other night and it was the best gig I've been to in a long time.

Can't wait til they bring out the album.

The Wordless Music Orchestra performing William Basinski's The Disintegration Loops, dlp 1.1. Possibly my favourite piece of music this month.

Listening to David Byrne's Uh Oh for the first time in years.

Brassy, joyous, songs reveling in the world getting strange and awful and wonderful.

I bought David Koresh Superstar, by the Indelicates, some time ago, but I didn't get around to listening to it till this week. It's really something - it's half concept album half musical (obviously based on jesus christ superstar) about that cult in Texas that ended up getting raided by the govt. and burned down, killing many of the believers (among whom, a suspicious number of teenage girls, because Koresh was classy that way). Google it if you like, or just get the album, because the lyrics booklet actually has historical footnotes which is not something you see every day.

Here's one of the central songs.

This album is awesome to listen all the way through, but for randomly coming up on my playlist I prefer their less context-y songs, like this one:
