    I just got a letter from the Mormon missionary I love so much and have been writing to the last year and almost a half. The letter he sent has a drawing of a dildo in it. Best Mormon boy ever.

    ETA another good thing today. I got 2 pieces into an art show! It's an alumni show for my old school, and it sounds like it's gonna rock. Also, one of the pieces has a sort of panel with me and my ex in bed, cuddling and whatnot while I say "I just want to know what to expect." As gallery assistant, he has to hang it on the wall. And look at it every day when he closes everything up. That ought to piss him off real good.

    I just made some totally bitching crépes, and discovered that I can, in fact, flip a crépe over using nothing but the pan. Saving a bunch of them to take to work because I have co-workers who have had neither crépes nor Nutella, and I have exactly enough for one for each of my team.

    1) The cute assistant to the Dean freaked out when I told her my age because she thought I was younger than she (25) and may have been flirting.

    2) My English professor told me that I am an excellent writer, and that she's already sure that I will be the means by which one of her students is published in the literary journal of the school this year.

    3) On the subway ride home, waiting for the train to start, I did my usual i-don't-give-a-fuck-i'll-grab-and-hang-from-the-bars-and-bend-my-knees thing to stretch out my shoulders and back for a few minutes. At the next stop, as a fellow was about to disembark, he tapped me on the shoulder and said "thank you". Huh? "You just made my night" he said, smiling. I could have been offended, I suppose, but instead I took the compliment.

    @Fishelle - that is AWESOME. Especially the bit with the ex. bwa ha ha.

    I drunk texted my ex last night (I know, bad, but I can't help it sometimes. glukkake already gave me a virtual bopping on the nose for it) and she texted me back today and we texted back and forth a bit, which was nice. I guess living in a different state makes it easier to just have a pleasant conversation with her (and vice versa).

    It helps that my drunk texts are usually sort of jokey, and not weepy 'I MISS YOOSOMUCH <3 U 4EVA WHYDON'TULOVEME?!' texts. I save those for e-mails. And I got most of that out of my system a few months ago (at least the need to write it and send it to her, if not the actual emotions).

    I had a first date over the weekend that went alarmingly well. We have a lunch scheduled for tomorrow. She's a writer, beer drinker, looker and easy to talk to. I'm trying to ride the wave of neuro-chemical goodness that comes with a promising new person in my life without allowing myself to get so caught up in some removed from reality, hyper-romanticized fiction which will inevitably lead to heartbreak. I keep checking my e-mail to see if she's replied to my latest flirty bit of e-banter. It's possible I may need Glukkake to virtually bop my nose as well if things get more out of hand.

    On the creative front, I finished the first draft of issue four of 8 Pills. Four more to go. I did some mixing on one of my songs this weekend. I also poked at a couple of others. I need to find some time when no one is in the house and my head is in music since right now recording (or re-recording) vocals is the primary bit of unresolved work for most of the album. It's been my back of the back burner project for two and a half years now. In that time I've written a screenplay, a four issue comic story and four issues of an eight issue one. I would really like to get the album done and move on.

    Not a bad day! Got the print-ready pdfs of my beer label and will be printed out tomorrow or the day after.

    I also decided to go to a John Lithgow book signing! I didn't but his book but did listen to his reading of the end part of the preface and an awesome story involving Marcel Marceau! And he answered my question! Yee!

    I just bought a ticket to see a live musical performance of Rocky Horror. Like with an actual cast, not a typical friday night shadowcast thing. I am SO excited. I kept putting off buying tickets because they were so expensive for good seats, and then only crappy seats were left, but I knew if I didn't go I'd be really, really bummed out. And I've already been bummed out a few times this year for having had to miss events I wanted to go to (like Burning Man, among others). So, yeah, super super excited for this :D
