AAAAAAAH this is my 2 year old son's favorite movie! Wish I didn't suck horribly at art or I would contribute. edit: alright, breaking out the tablet, I owe it to myself to try my hand at it.
@richard basey Yes, let the subconscious work on it. I had some difficulty getting an idea but I'm finally getting something. I'll see about putting it together this week.
In the last few months I've had a variety of ideas for a 21st century Nemo series. This isn't one of them. I couldn't distill any of those ideas into a single image that made any sense. So I let my subconscious go to work and this is what showed up. What it means, I leave up to your interpretations.
Hey all! It's been a while since I last joined in. Here's my Little Nemo:
Here, Nemo is the son of a junkie--a mother who is often affectionate but thoroughly unfit, very much in the grip of addiction. In his dreams she is both the monster and the princess he fights to rescue.
Cannot get enough of Windsor McCay. Thank you so much for what you have given us. Here is the only thing I came up with. Very good challenge. Totally un original piece.
@Alan, @RandomEntity, glad you liked it. It's not that great really. As usual with an R/R, I go with the first idea that came to mind (guess who's been playing a shitload of Dark Souls this week?)
Slumberland Reconfigured He slept on, dreaming within dreams. Glimpses of stars leer down. With daddy gone, the princess no longer waits for her long lost playmate. The planets spin and launch on hypnagogic waves. Another dream washes over him and he slips further down. Buildings tremble as the moon passes in worry. If Nemo doesn't wake up soon, then no one will ever sleep again.
