Up to 11,357 going into day 5. I helps that a) I made a rough plan for what I want to write about each day and b) we had a public holiday on Thursday that gave me a chance to burn through nearly 4,000 words.

I just passed the 8000 mark. I was "fortunate" to have a snow day on wednesday, so I used that to get a day ahead. Up until today things were running fairly smoothly, but tonight I just can't get my head in the game. The story was progressing fine on it's own, but tonight it's been like pulling teeth. I plan on spending some time on Saturday at the library where there should be fewer things to distract me.

    Fingers crossed anyway.

Congratulations to everybody who's giving it a go and is still in the game.

Up to 11,700ish right now. Got off to a good start, and was sort of helped out the last few days by losing internet connection - fewer distractions... I want to get past 13k today, but it's a struggle to focus.

    Keep at it, all.

I'm not doing the whole novel as part of NaNoWriMo, but I am gonna try to, in addition to the novel, get two short stories written this month. Sitting at just below 5,000 words on the first one, right now.

Current writing scene: Main character locked in a bidding war on a webcam stripper site, quoting Emperor Palpatine while he does it.

Writing is the best, you guys.

I JUST started about 10 hours ago. First few bits were like pulling teeth in slowmotion. If I could count in the deleted parts I'd probably have around 4k, but as it is it's 8:39am and I'm sitting on top of 1138 words and enough plot to last me through the next ten days. I have no idea where it will go on from that point onwards (although I do have certain concepts I'd love to touch upon).

So what is it? It's my second fantasy novel (and I found another friend to proofreadthe first one and she's doing so far much faster job than the previous one so there's hope I'll have it in a respectable state somewhere Summer 2012). No lenght goal, I'll try to keep on writing until I reach THE END.

I've only gotten about 500 words down on the novel I planned to work on for NaNoWriMo, But I am also drawing and inking a comic for work, and am doing pages for a Tournament on DA, so it looks like comics writing and drawing will eat up my time this year, which isn't a Bad thing, I am getting paid for the non Tourney comic. ouo (Hooray a job.)

Ugh, just tried to make up from the weekend aka when I have a social life. A day off netted me just over 4000 words, bringing me up to 11,270.

400 words behind still, but it's better than the 4600 word absence I was looking at this morning.

It's frightening that it's a fifth done already.

Congratulations on making it past the first week to everyone still in the game, and to people with good excuses for not being (ie gotta get paid to write).

Just snuck over the 20k-word mark. After the real grind of the weekend, have finally had a few good days. Getting to the interesting "Hey, I wasn't expecting this story to go here" bit now, which is fun (think this comes before the "I've written myself into a dead end and have nothing to say" stage...).

Courage, my sisters & brothers of the keyboard.

I gave up about fifteen minutes in to November. Like last year, I have quite a lot of schoolwork sapping my energy. Hopefully, unlike last year, I shall get all the schoolwork done.

3637 words so far. I'm hoping to do another 500+ this morning (and then I have to go and get my "unemployed health insurance thing" stamped which is a good hour walk away from where I live).

Would have more but I took the time to rewrite the opening paragraphs as they badly needed that. To be honest I don't really care whether I'll finish 50k words on time, what's important is that I finish the novel.

Right around 16500 words right now, so I've actually got a bit of a buffer (assuming I just get the minimum number of words done per day). I'm liking how the story is going, although for a paranormal romance my story is so far devoid of both the paranormal and the romance. That may be a bit of a speedbump right there...

Man, today's story is just not working with me. I love the idea, but... it's really sluggish today.

Well, push through it and do something new tomorrow.

I’m impressed people are churning out the pages so fast! I’m writing a novel online that’s nothing to do with this and I’m struggling! Maybe next year I’ll give this a go.

I'll be working on a novel, but not as part of NaNo; I really want to take my time with it.

Last two days have been a slog. But today's story cue is "Pyrokinetic," which is always fun. Now I just have to think of a good job for someone who can manipulate heat and flame. Hmmm.. Mongolian barbecue...

Somehow I didn't start paying any attention to this until today. Had I known, I would have started writing. Now I'm ten days behind. What do I do? Panic? I'm going to panic.

My initial plan was to write 2k a day to make 60k by the 30th.

Then it was to make 50k as fast as possible and quit.

Now it's to make a mad dash to 50k (and the end of the "story") by the 20th and then spend the last 10 days writing bits here and there to fill in the more aching voids.

With 27,583 words as of close-of-business on day 11, I'm actually juuust on track in terms of wordcount. Still haven't worked out what said "story" is yet, though.

edit: just realised that I was doing really well until this time last week, when my wordcount absolutely stuka'd. cocks.

Well, I'm at 16,806 and I should be at 19,992 if I was on track, which I'm not. I still have all of tonight to right and the likelihood I'll crank out 2k is there, so 2k tonight, 2k tomorrow and my usual 2.5k during the week and I'll be caught up and starting to get ahead again.

Ended tonight with 25064 words. My "paranormal romance" has morphed into something completely different. There may still be something "paranormal" (although it hasn't actually shown up yet) and the "romance" portion has refused to manifest. Fortunately the direction of the novel appeared to me during a bathroom break and now I think I know where things are going. Of course I've thought the same thing several times so far.

currently catching up after three days of writing nothing at all. (Stupid weekends with work and having a life)

Wrote a sex scene as well as a scene of the main character's hand wound being cauterized with a screwdriver today. It's safe to say I'm in kind of a weird place right now.

16 more hellish days to go!
