@RenThing - Part one is up on the story blog now, and I should have part 2 up tonight. It feels like one of those ideas that someone with more talent than I should be handling, but by the gods, I'm going to make it work....
Well I may as well admit to everyone and myself that I'm not doing NaNoWriMo as much as I'd have liked to. Given I wrote perhaps 100 words max sometime near the beginning of the month, I think it's fair to say this is not my thing. @MShades - The first part amused me, the end of the second part kind of scared me...cheers, I guess?
crossed 10k words. pretty sure I won't make it in time but whatever, I'm writing and that's good news in itself (and I hope to keep on writing until this thing's finished entirely)
@Jamie Heron - Glad you enjoyed it! Here's part 3 - I went for a bit of a thrilling climax, with some heart-wrenchingness towards the end. I hope it worked....
Congrats to everyone still keeping the word count beast at bay. I've fallen very badly behind, been a bit of a shit month so far, had a death in the family, and I've come down with bad man-flu. This last couple of weeks havent seemed very real. My creative mind has been rather lacking in aything lately. I'm determined to make the most out of this last week and a half though. The novel is being put on the back burner for now, as I'm starting to get some ideas for new shorts, so I'm hoping to make up the word count with them.
I'm about two days behind, which is better than I was last night when I was three (let's hear it for writing 3k in a night!). Didn't get any writing done during the day today, things were suprisingly crazed, but I should at least not fall any further behind tonight or this weekend.
Further congratulations to everyone still in the game, whether yr posting about it or not. Keep going.
Just made 44k. If can grind out 6000 words this weekend - 3k a day is doable, right? - I'll make my target. Then I can relax a bit, and focus on fixing shit up before the end of the month.
After a hard week of very slow progress and missed days, I got some serious work done today and got up to 29204, putting me about a day and a half behind.
Saturday and Sunday have turned into very profitable days, word wise so I think I'll be able to get to that 33,333 tomorrow evening.
Holy crap... only 8 more days.... just crossed 40k so I'm definitely on track. I think I know how to end this, but getting there seems to be more difficult than it should be.
Reached 50k on the 21st. Was feeling seriously burnt out at that point, so have decided to take it easy and just fill in the gaps for the rest of the month.
Congratulations to everyone who's finished, won or lost, and godspeed to anyone still writing before local time ticks over (I wonder which global NaNoWriMo-ist is closest to the International Date Line? Nevermind...).
