This is one of the buildings that makes up the Yongsan Electronics Market in Seoul. There are a few more interconnected buildings and the subway station is a part of it as well. When I first went there I thought that the subway station was the whole of it and didn't really get what all of the excitement was about. Sort of like a vertical electronic mall, but most of the floors were half empty. Then someone clued me in to the fact that the REAL market is accessed by a walkway hidden in the back of the station that climbs across the KTX tracks. *The KTX is a supersonic or just barely subsonic, I can never remember, cross-country train*

All of a sudden my mind was blown. There were little stalls everywhere selling ripoff DVDs, open air computer component sales, a complete alleyway for portable gaming, one for consoles and another solely for cellphones and their equivalents. As well as a ton of street food. I spent so many hours just wandering back and forth window shopping. I was in love. Someone once told me that the vendors gave the city a chunk of money simply not to be hassled for taxes. After seeing it and the interactions between vendors, I feel safe in assuming that it was linked to organized crime. Still, nothing better to do on a Saturday? Yongsan Electronics Market FTW.

Also if you're ever in Hong Kong, there's apparently a market there that makes this one seem like kids selling lemonade.
