As for me, I just got back from boxing. First sparring session where punches were, rather strongly, exchanged. Out of 150 punches sent my way in a single round I managed to block all but 3. I got some good shots in myself. By the end a seasoned pro told me I BELONGED in the ring, another (the one I fought) said that I was really good and had amazing potential and my coach was jumping up and down with excitement over how good I was in those rounds.

I am sweaty, all of my muscles are screaming and I have a HUGE headache brought forth by a right hook connecting with the side of my head. And you know what?

I feel fucking amazing. I think you can probably tell that from the smile, anyways.

@Rachael, HAHA, my family IS insane, that much is true. They are still coming to terms with my coming out as an artist, I come from a family of tradesmen and they would have had an easier time accepting me a cross-dresser than as an artist.
Also, I am prone to fits of both absinthe and sentimental writing, one usually under the influence of the other... or possibly it goes both ways.

omg....I can try. I'm sure I can get a 2D one with the general shape, but it'll take me a few tries to get a round puffy one like his.

@Alan - just some polyfiber stuffing. Same as what's used in most stuffed animals. I've also used, for other crocheted guys, poly-beads, which are those little beads used in hacky-sacks.

and @allana - thank you! It is probably 50% having a real camera, and 50% working hard. I'm learning the pain of taking a whole lot of pictures and only showing the one that works. Also, I'm better at keeping photoshop adjustments subtle, and being able to work with camera raw image files instead of jpegs is a bit of a revelation.

Agree with Slee, @Oddbill that is a fantastic self portrait. I love the color treatment and the level of detail. Also, the expression; inscrutable. It may just be a having 'real camera' but honestly no one gets one what doesn't have an idea how they want to use it. Ambition, my friend, it gets you all kind of places. I have been watching your work keep improving here on this thread over the course of the last year since regular internet connectivity became a real thing again and it is inspiring, man! Keep it coming!

On a technical note: yeah, RAW makes a huge difference in terms of what you can do. The effort of ruthlessly vetting it down to one image and then editing that image to more closely represent the ideal of it that you had in mind when you snapped the shutter is worth it. That one image is made sooooo much more powerful for standing its own.
@Allana, I love them! The second is much more interesting to me though I can't really say why.

@Sizer, the 28th. Is there some reason to be excited? Do we share a birthday?
