    So, President Saleh of Yemen seems finally to be giving up office and things there seem slowly to be edging back towards normality.

    - The oppositon political parties have chosen a Prime minister to run the country until elections planned for 90 days from now.

    - Amongst his first actions Prime Minister Basindwa has set up a mediation process to try to overcome the divisons within the armed forces which were divided into pro- and anti-Saleh factions and on the verge of civil war.
