Christmas isn't my favorite time of the year by far, but I love Christmas cards. Love sending them and receiving them. So... You guys want to exchange addresses?
(What would be the best way to do this, actually? Just give emails and send street addresses that way?)

Oooh, I would like to do this :)

Sending street addresses over email is probably the safest way to do it, I think.

should one of us send a mass email to everyone that is interested, and that way people can just reply all with their street address? Might help keep things a bit organized. I'd be willing to send that first email and do all the typing :)

And that's why I post here. SO MANY IDEAS.

Argos, feel free to take the reins on this, if you want. You seems to have this shit on lock.

My main social circle has about 30 nerds in it, a handful of whom are very anal about organization. I've picked up a few tips from them ;)

I am up for something. I have been lurking here, gathering all of your powers so that someday I might exploit you. This makes me look like a team player, so... YEAH! I AM GAME!

I'm game...I could do quickie diy cards and I never get any cards...

! I will make cards for anyone who emails me in the next two weeks.

ETA: Anyone emailing me will be assumed to enjoy crass and/or vulgar humor as pertaining to xxxmess cards.
ETA2: For organization, i find a google docs spreadsheet shared and editable to anyone with the link to be the best way to do these sorts of things. Like this one:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aod28Qz78g3wdGxRanR1SElpbng0bTdxckdkUUt6Ymc
ETA3: Obviously I will remove this link, (hand over ownership of the document, etc, et al) if people would prefer i emailed it to them, or made it a private invite document!

Okay, so since I only have a vague understanding of what's going on now (even though it was my damn idea), I'm gonna ask Argos to set out the rules to this.

(Even though it seems to just be "put your email here and wait for the big email to come", right? I'm half-asleep right now, so I don't trust my brain.)

Aww, poor Brittney, haha. Soz for the usurpation.

I think the spreadsheet is a good idea if we make it private, just so that our street addresses aren't available to just anyone who comes along perusing the message boards. Internet safety and all that jazz for us of paranoid minds.

What I COULD do is make another doc, make it private, and send that one out to everyone who lists an email here. Phill_sea, can non-gmail people also edit a google doc? Because if not, then I'll just email everyone and we can do the original plan of each person doing a "reply all" with their street address.

But yes, as of now, it's just "put your email here and wait for a bigger email."

Aw, don't be sorry; this'll probably end up running a lot smoother than "let's swap a bunch of emails w/ a bunch of people".

Hey, I've made the google doc private, added argos as the owner and sent the document to everyone above this post who posted their email.

(Pretty sure non google users can edit google docs :) )

Since Argos is now the owner, the easiest way (without blowing up her email) would be to post your email address here, Argos will add your email to the document, which you can then add your address to, and *everyone* on the sheet can then mail everyone else cards.

I think this saves our inboxes, and it'll be harder for people to get lost in the shuffle. . . But Argos is now captain, so I default to her from now on.

(Apologies if I stepped on any toes. . . !!!)

hooray docs! And no toes stepped on at all :)

So the plan of action now is to just add your email, and I will add people as we go. This is actually easier cos now I don't have to wait for everyone who's interested to add their email before I send out the big email. Thanks Phill!!
