lot's of stuff related to other recent threads ... enjoy

    Alan Moore Interview
  1.  (10376.2)
Thanks for the link, it's a really interesting read and apparently it's a three part interview over at Honest Publishing; parts one and two are up, with part three coming on Monday.

The third part is up, and personally I liked this one the most of all of the 'parts' of the interview, though I did find Moore's (admitted) lack of knowledge about the internet meant his advice on breaking into comics seemed...odd I suppose is the best word, but it isn't really (clearly I'm not going to be a writer anytime soon!) but at least he's honest about his lack of knowledge.

I don't have any thoughts left to spew out to be honest, thanks again APATHY for the link, I really enjoyed it.

reading Alan Moore explaining how to break into comics now is cringe worthy. he is brilliant with his words, but someone who is cut off from all technology and has no real dealings with the comic industry anymore doesnt seem to be the go-to guy for that particular information. the rest of this was interesting though.

I see that as more the fault of the interview/pre-planned questioning then Moore himself, he has said a few times in the interview that he doesn't know the current goings on. I loved honestly withdrawn he is from, i dunno, modern society? Just how his advice was 'Maybe there is something on that internet you guys have now? I hear there is stuff there, maybe.'

oh yeah thats totally the interviewer. asking him how to break into comics is like asking some insane old musician whats the best way to book your first tour in 2011.
  5.  (10376.7)
Yeah, it seems like in every interview they ask him all sorts of questions that he likely has little idea of how to answer - but he always does give them an answer, and even if he's out of touch there's still an element of truth or wisdom in the answers he gives.

But I think it's the interviewers to blame, Alan is simply being polite and answering the questions, but the interviewers are the ones that are either too lazy to have worked out that the question isn't a great fit for the subject, or they're hoping that they'll get something sensationalistic by accident.

I always find it funny that people on the internets call him this bitter old man and just whines about DC all the time, when really it just seems that way because the interviewers ALWAYS ask him about it.

It's been obvious for years he REALLY wants to talk about Jerusalem but no one seems to care, they wanna know why he is pissed about the LXG movie and if he saw Watchmen

@ andycon - yup. I heard a podcast he did a few years ago and the interviewers asked him one or two questions about his current work at the time (Lost Girls) and I don't remember the DC/Watchmen thing ever coming up.
