    Extrapolating from the first post, I just discovered this band after trying to find out what the members of, Period Pains, had gone on to do:

    Pure Reason Revolution - The Bright Ambassadors of Morning

    This video also happens to feature space octopuses; they may not be as awesome as space squids, but still very cool.

    As often happens to me, I then found out that the band split up amicably about three weeks ago... typical.

    'Beth EP' by Nikola Nezit on ODDOT is just fantastic, and I came across it right here on Whitechapel too. Beautiful hypnagogic dream pop. Lots of good stuff on ODDOT, worth a browse.

    Couple of really quality albums and EPs sneaking in under the radar in the closing moments of 2011. This is beautiful stuff, textured, abstract ambient hip-hop, with plenty of static and space around the beats. Put it on after Wander / Wonder for a truly chilled afternoon's listening...
