Whew; tough competition this week, lots of really stellar entries! Here's my take; back in time, tough justice is needed more that ever. The kanji symbol SHOULD read as "law". Someone correct me if they know better. *Edited for better type treatment.*
So many fantastic entries! I nearly gave up when I saw Timson's, but the idea wouldn't let go of me until I drew it, so here it is. I've kept the helmet but changed it to reflect an even harder approach to law-enforcement.
The change from the face half covered to totally covered really has an impact - I could imagine something like this in a nightmare future for Dredd's world. (As opposed to Dredd's world already being a nightmare future for us.)
Wow. Many, many awesome entries. Being of negligible artistic talent I will not be entering anything, but I'm loving some of these designs. It's always a joy to see the work of regular contributors as well as that of newer/previously hidden Whitechapel recruits.
Have to say though, @Megatron - call Brendon Small and 2000AD now, we Need this version of Dredd to appear in Metalocalypse!
@ Sizer- I was waiting all week for that!!! (you did not disappoint) awesome in fact this whole thread is too awesome! my other favorites include @Dbed's and @Almagamatedbiscuit but again the whole thread is killer. ( I'm really busy right now but am going to try to find time to participate before the deadline...)
I decided to start from scratch rather than work with the existing design. The helmet now includes various technical capabilities such as gas mask/filtration system, comms system and night vision/infra red etc. The body suit is armoured and padded for day to day riot control and the truncheon is barbed, spiked and electrified.
Need to fix a couple of bits on the drawing but i won't have time before the deadline so i thought it was better to colour it up and submit and fix it later -espescially as it's just a concept drawing.
Its been way too long since I contributed anything.
Drokkin ace stuff so far. (surely its an offense in MC1 to draw a judge)
Project - Continuity Dredd Justice Departments previous attempts to create a replacement for Dredd, such as the Judda, and Mechanismo failed, and he is getting old. As part of post Dredd contingency planning we present the ExoDredd. ExoDredd is an engram driven military grade exoskeleton that can give any judge or even Joe citizen the mind and abilities of Mega City One's greatest Law enforcer. Created from direct mindscans of Judge Dredd himself obtained via sleep machine. Molecular electron shield with additional door/wall breaching and Hypno-seizure function.
