Another thing to maybe think on is the number of entries per photographer. My gut tells me it might be smart to slap on a reasonable limit, so as a) not to drown out folks who have fewer shots and b) to also get people to focus on whittling down the material to the absolute best shots. I don't really see this as much of a problem, but I know that I have a nasty tendency to go overboard, and limits are edumacational.
Hmm, i'm inclined to go with limit of one entry per person, like in the R/R and Fast Fiction threads. I wonder if this might lead to a slow start with a rush of entries at the end, though if that did prove to be a problem it might be solved by tweaking the duration of future challenges.
@oldhat-> Regarding the photo challenges, you've got at least one Swiss and Unreal Photographer participation. Perfect timing for me, I'll soon dispose of dedicated time for photography and my recent pictures are really starting to reek.
I would be more for the 2-3 pictures, It would allow some sequential pictures. Is it weird to expect orginal work ?
If you mean "pictures participants took themselves", then I should say that that's what this challenge is about. I'm not asking people to go on google image search and find something!
@allana: The last photo from the earlier post is of a shrub that looks familiar to me. I can't remember the name of it (I believe it starts with an S), but it is on the hill leading to the beach at my mom's house, and I think you can make a drink from the fuzzy red stuff. The colors in the photos are very lovely.
So I was taking some pictures for eBay auctions and came across a pretty useful tidbit: the inside of a Lowepro camera bag seems to be pretty darn close to the shade of an 18% gray card. So I took out a spare divider and used it to test exposure, since I don't have a gray card handy (I know): presto, seems like it worked great! Photos needed no adjustment, exposure was dead-on (being colorblind, I can't attest to the color balance). Am I the last person to know about this? Is this a thing?
