    Hullo all!

I'm currently working on a series: Eclipse Portraits.

I would like to cast male and female models to shoot at night in my apartment (non-nudes, TF only, please) for this portrait series. I welcome all shapes, sizes, ages, backgrounds, etc.
If you are interested in participating in this project and in the New York City area, please email me — me@joanneleah.com.

It will be very scientific and look something like this:

@joanneleah - those portraits are wonderful. that limit-case contre jour technique is very interesting.

Nice! I don't know why but it puts me in mind of Picasso's Three Musicians. That is probably just all of the drugs that took in my misguided youth talking though...
Now all we need is a roadscum skip beneath and we have a theme.

Day 14: Heart. When I was trying to find something to shoot, I learned I have absolutely nothing heart-shaped in my home. Very symbolic, I'm sure.

    Day 14: Heart.

    @Rachael - I need that shirt...

I love where I am immensely and that probably shows in my pictures... I'm not a city lover at all, which is why I endure a 4hr round trip to London to work. We did live in a town centre for a couple of years and while I liked some aspects of it (convenience, a station next door), I felt really, really claustrophobic. Since we've moved I've been far happier - having the sea a ten minute drive away is one of the best medicines I can think of and I couldn't bear to be without it again.

Finally made an Outer Church last night. Despite yesterday's whisky/gin consumption, I managed to get into the zone and take pictures...

Allana and I briefly talked about this last night and I thought I'd ask you folks to see what you thought of the idea.

So, the R/R threads are amazing and all, but unless you have models, costumes and several other things on hand, it makes it a bit difficult for a photographer to get his/her shit together for it.

And the Art of Fast Fiction...well, Budgie has made it clear that 100% photographic posts are not welcome.

So how about a Photography Challenge thread? Every week or two we put up a challenge (a concept or...well, whatever we can agree on to make these accesible) and work with that?

So the other question would be "what kind of challenges would you like to see?"

Personally, I like interpretive photographic challenges that are simple but can be done so many times. Colours or single words. That type of thing. Also, perhaps experiment with challenges based on specific styles (similar to the David Lynch poster R/R)?

its super unlikely i'd take part but i think if you had the challenge be one word things could lead to awesome ideas and interpretations. things like: "red" or "breathe" or "hight"

    but yeah just my $0.02

With the breadth of photographic talent we've got here, not to mention the inventive and sometimes just plain warped imaginations, this could be a very interesting thing to see, very interesting indeed. I like.

That sounds really interesting, even exciting, but I don't think I'd be able to contribute much, if at all. School has me tied up pretty much indefinitely and I... think I have some problems to work out.

I'm definitely interested in what all our Real Photographers have to put up, though.

I think the whole "I don't have time" thing can be dealt with if this was a two week challenge maybe?

I'm definitely interested in what all our Real Photographers have to put up, though.

I'd be interested to see what everyone has to put up, personally. And yeah... "Real Photographers" kind of rubs me the wrong way...

I'm hoping this will be open to the unreal ones as well...
