I apologize for the crappy, "here's my grody bathroom mirror" myspace-esque SPIT, but I took this just so I could text it to my friend to show her an outfit I put together when I was practicing applying eyeshadow (and ended up needing an outfit to go with it - it did NOT look good with normal everyday clothes D:). Initially I had no intentions of posting this anywhere online, but I'm kind of amused by the sassy expression I ended up having in this photo (also, is it showing up correctly? I edited it on imgur but anytime I load it it still comes up oversized and sideways for me. Hopefully it looks right.)

I only made it work once I got the outfit. I originally did it because I was wearing a light-blue and white striped sweater shirt, with a bluish grey skirt, but that didn't work AT ALL with the makeup. That outfit, however, did, in the best way possible. Glad you guys like it! ^_^

I think they tend to be a problem area for people in general, but in that one they came out really well. What got me was that the fingers on my right hand actually look like they're curved on my hip, and not just like little short stubs.

I'm not sure if this is really appropriate for this thread, but the talk above regarding drawing hands got me thinking of a picture that I have that I think would be great art fodder.
As a child I always found my late grandfathers' hands to be the most fascinating things. They were so huge that at the dinner table his knife and fork would look like tiny toys in his hands.
He spent his entire working life as a merchant seaman, shipping coal from Newcastle except for his time during the war when he was based up at Scapa Flow. I guess a life hauling rope and operating machinery in the north sea made them even bigger than they started out. Anyway I ramble on- at his ninetieth birthday a few years ago I made sure I got some pictures for my memories and here they are if you'd like the practice;

EDIT: I noticed once this was posted that there was one small part I forgot to shade and a smudge that showed up much more in scanning than it does on paper, so I fixed those problems on the actual drawing in my sketchbook but I had to scan that fucking thing about five times just to get the piece of shit scan I got and I'm tired so I can't be bothered right now to try again. Might update it later with the actual final image but since it's really just two problems and a lot of obviously shitty scanning that'll really depend on how bored I get later today. We'll see what happens...

The plaid on mine didn't come out quite as planned either, mostly because I did it in crayon and couldn't get it to do some of the level of detail I wanted but I think it came out cool anyway. Here's some fodder that's also a test of the imagination. I take photos of myself for drawing reference sometimes. Also, I usually almost always shoot in very low light and without a flash, because my ginger/vampire/dayglo ass blinds the shit out of cameras. So I suppose the challenge here is to not only imagine what's under the black mark, but also, to figure out where I end and the wall begins...

I've been shooting a short film where I play a former warrior turned vagrant/ murderer who is killed by the main character. This photo amuses me with the incongruity of a lady in a bright pink jumper faffing with a very severe-looking man's tattered clothes. :D I'd love to see a drawing of the Lanky Man (for that is my/ his name) on his own, though.

PS: Will be drawing people as well, once I'm a little less busy. I want to achieve a 1:1 ratio on drawings I do to drawings others do of me.

On a random side note- the wasband is a good guy I appreciate the fervor on my behalf but he still makes sure I'm ok and taken care of so there is no ill between us two.

@ Rachael - Really tried to get your nose down but it just wouldn't come out for me.

That, is a 750 ml Crystal Head Vodka & if you're wondering why it's red it's 'cause i placed 10 (THAT'S RIGHT 10!) ghost peppers in it. I thought it'd make a fun test of bravery for me & the guys at a BBQ or something....needless to say it became completely undrinkable. My wife just made it a cool decoration & it's really badass I think.

@ Rachael - I didn't know if you've noticed but I am Mexican so i do eat alot of spicy food (Pueto Ricans & Dominicans do not). I made this about a year ago & about a week after I made it I tried half a shot & it felt like someone lit their fist on fire & punched me in the chest. Then about a week ago I wanted to try it again so I dip just my finger in it & put it on my tongue. My tongue was on fire for 10 mins. So i dont think it'll be good for anything but causing alot of pain.
