I believe the newer 360s have a somewhat wider hard drive compatibility range, since they no longer use that weird housing to attach to the top. Also USB thumb drives can be formatted for Xbox 360 storage.
Oh, hey, speaking of hard drives. I wanna switch out my Playstation 3's hard drive. Anyone have recommendations as far as brands and such go? I've heard some relatively bad things about both Western Digital and Seagate hard drives in PS3s.
If you can get online and get it updated to the newest firmware it'll work with a decent USB stick shoved in.
The hard drive unit on the old ones is a custom chassis, but the drive itself is fairly normal. You'll need to break warranty though.
The new units (with the smaller case design) take bog standard 2.5" drives, but you will need to source a cradle for it if you don't want it hanging out weirdly.
If you're not fussed about downloading games, a newer model with the 4 gig built in flash will be fine.
Spent most of a pretty shitty day playing Skyrim, and I'm finally to the point where I'm not thinking "OHMYGODI'MGONNADIEI'MGONNADIEEVERYTHINGWILLKILLME" when I'm wandering around. Which is a pretty nice feeling.
Still not confident I can take a dragon down solo, but it's a start.
Oh, man... those damn exploits. There's a dude at work, specifically, that tells me about all of them. I'm trying to make a point of playing the game straight. Especially since I have a tendency to RP while I play (though my character is a somewhat brain-damaged Breton battle mage whose just really confused about everything going on around her...)
I hate to say this, but if you're getting a 360 just go for the hard drive. If you want to pay less, that's understandable. Cheaper is frequently better. It's just that without the hard drive you've only bought 50% of the system for 75% of the price.
Britt, I am DRAGONBORN, no fucking skeleton should be able to kill me. I personally have more fun bending reality (though not actual reality) to my own whim to the acquisition of an elder scroll.
Firstly -- Did anyone else feel like Uncharted 3's story was entirely lacking and put together with spit and baling wire?
Secondly -- As much as I cannot stand the campaign in Uncharted 3, I also can't stop playing the multiplayer. So much fun, so much to do and run and shoot and unlock and oh my god I wish there was a way to stop playing it. I just can't.
There's a couple of games coming out this year that I'm looking forward to, but I'm also intrigued with the idea of looking backwards and trying out Final Fantasy XIII. I never played it, never had the motivation, but this year I'm thinking I might. It's the only Fantasy proper that I haven't played.
@brit i was actually pretty far along before i stopped getting worked by dragons solo...it was my little bit of dovahkiin shame. i was fine with everything else but no matter what, shit would go wrong on the dragons.
now, i dont have that problem, but for a while i was just fleeing them rather than get, say, firebreathed off of the side of a mountain
The worst part about dragons is when they're circling a mountain, and you either can't get their attention, or there's no place for the scaly fuckers to land. Definitely doing some leveling in archery now that Two-Handed is up to 65 or so.
That's pretty annoying, but I hate when they have a really wide-ranging patrol route. Which leads to a lot of my character running around in a circle, bow in hand, constantly screaming, "COME DOWN, YOU HAND BAG!"
