    @Brian le Golem--the mounted mother makes this my favorite so far...I recognize Popeye; should we know the other barflies?

    @kmcleod --Daddy's supposed to be a Captain Haddock lookalike, especially on the drinking side. The bartender was inspired by Lucius, from Bone. The last barfly...scruffy-looking bearded guy with a cane? Honestly, I don't know. Maybe if he was on silk cuts...

    @Paul Sizer: I couldn't quite find the right caption, and anyway, it does the trick speechless, but yeah, this kind of sentence would work. Or maybe "Where's Mommy?"

    This challenge kept provoking images from the Wearable Arts in my head. So in the end I turned it into a wearable art. I call it: "Submarine-r".

    "The child of a human sea captain and of a princess of the mythical undersea kingdom of Atlantis.”

    STILL WAITING for someone to do one where the human sea captain is Jacques Cousteau.

    @Brandon C.
    -Oh my god. Now I'm imagining a baby monsterthing talking on Cousteau's voice explaining about the sea.
    LOL! :D GRAND idea!

    Prince Namor as reimagined by Tom Crielly

    Here's my entry. Dabbled with making it a full on monster but decided to keep it as a lost prince 'human' character that could actually still be used in a similar way as the existing version within the marvel universe. Wanted to make this one seem a bit happier with his lot in life though, rather than the grumpy Namor that is the default.

    @Rootfireember He needs to wear the red beanie, too.

    @Brandon
    -Thanks. I almost snorted mt.dew on my keyboard from laughing at the whole thing, and imagining all the r/rs with requisite soundbites and beanies.

    NayNay Prince of the Beach

    Naynay's Mother's last words to him were "Your Place is Above the Sea" so he set out on land, to find friends and conquer the Human Race. :)

    @Salgood Sam

    I reckon you can still take a stab at him because the threads tend to be left open after the challenge officially ends. Some people have submitted belated entries.

    This famous submarine captain met the Atlantean princess; they had twins and he named his submarine after them.
    Consuela & Javier, the Nautili twins
    Consuela and Javier befriended fishes and humans alike. This story probably has a sad ending.
    There's a slightly bigger version here.

    Glorious gloriousness from everyone. Going to start being pushier with the deadlines, so will close the thread in the morning. Anyone late to the party - who still wants to play - can add late entries to the "art" thread.
