Thank you for the warm welcome. Disappearance was due to being overweight, which I felt was becoming apparent on the shape of my face, so over the last month and a half I lost 22 lbs. Still a few pounds to go before I'm comfortable, but I'm already feeling much better.
Here's two proper self-portraits, then. I even kinda smile in one of them.
The hairs on the shirt are from the puppy. And that's after I cleaned the shirt. That bloody dog has to be balding or something.
ME! I TOOK THIS! my very first self portrait with an actual camera- that I took. My tripod light broke when I took it tho, but I took it! (if you can't tell i'm excited that i took the picture on my own... )
It's funny how much more revealing a shot in front of a bookcase is. I mean, sure she has a killer body, but HOLY CRAP, she has (insert coveted book/sculpt/toy in this space)! Good for you on your first foray into self photographing; sorry the tripod broke.

It's very true. I was quite surprised at how many books, even with not having a chance in hell at being able to read the spines, I was able to recognize. (IE: Hitchhiker's Guide, Invisibles, Preacher... that little yellow book a few over from MI6 that I can't remember the name of and not sure where my wife's copy is...)
Dammit... now I want to start a "What's on your bookshelf" thread...
