Some of the original Mingus pressings are worth huge money as collectibles now, as well. You can occasionally turn up stuff like this at charity shops and garage sales.
Line6 makes some lovely gear, it's true. That said, I'll also throw in a recommendation for an ART Tube MP preamp. Ridiculously good bang for a small amount of dollar, and slapping that in front of the Pod will go a long way in getting a beefier sound.
Do not tempt me with more beautiful things!!!! It does look good though, and not that expensive.
I bought the POD and it's a thing of wonder. I've actually got a UAD LA610 in the study, which I can try throwing the guitars through as well - I'm really, really tempted to blow my credit card balance out of the water with the new Johnny Marr signature Jaguar when it comes out over here and sell one of the others... I made a new years resolution to take guitar playing seriously again and it's doing me a world of good so far.
@Oldhat, Greasemonkey - have you got that 'Mingus plays piano' LP? Seriously mellow record.
@JP Carpenter - Lost most of my vinyl in a house fire, sold the rest when I moved to Canada (rare ELO singles and a signed copy of Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits). I know the album you mean, though.
@Slick: Ta very much, most kind of you! That sounds like it might be rather useful. I'll e-mail you when i'm more awake to sort out the wheres and hows.
