I'm not sure how I'll make my way there, but you'll find me at C'est What at some point in the evening. I'll keep you peoples updated here as I make my way along the various free WiFis I manage to steal presious bits on from time to time.
Also: Alls yous guises are totally super awesomes for putting up with my last minute non-planning. (Especially @allana, who gets extra points for taking me on while packing up for another city. Jesus. Who'd do that? Would you?)
@taphead you will find the Torontonians (Torontotoros?) to be absolutely the most hospitable collection of hairless apes that ever screeched out of a primordial arboria.
In other words, there is no where you will ever go where the people are more friendly or more welcoming. I don't know why that is. Perhaps Canadia is just that cool.
@taphead Gimme a shout on facebook at some point. I can pick you up at the station and we can go somewhere before the meet and talk chowder. Or, uh, stuff that we should talk about. Maybe over chowder? Whichever. :)
@taphead, I'm not moving to Montreal for another six months, but I am actually that rad, regardless. Although! I do have to work the next morning, as well, so I can't play Toronto host to you on Sunday. But maybe someone here will volunteer their services ... ? (Or you can just sleep in 'til 3pm, when I get off work. Whatever.)
I've just departed from a scary campus town in CT, and am going to try the theme park known as "Port Authority Bus Terminal at midnight", and then it's me on my way to Toronto! Yay!
@allana - I can't say for sure yet, but at the moment sleeping in until 3PM doesn't sound half bad...
I'll be dragging a cumbersome and garishly purple trolley suitcase with me, but never mind that.
Also, it seems I may actually be able to get a show in your fair city, but the date/scheduling for that is still totally up in the air. If it seems I'll need to stick around for a longer while waiting for the slot on the club calendar, I'd be happy for hostel/hotel suggestions...
Though I'm so broke, I can't even pay attention, I'll be there.
EDIT TO ADD:
In other words, there is no where you will ever go where the people are more friendly or more welcoming. I don't know why that is. Perhaps Canadia is just that cool.
I shall paraphrase Alden Nowlan - "This is a country where you can condemn a man to die just by locking him outside. "
