Are we sure the Green Room is still open, and in possession of a liquor license?

So....I tried calling and there was no answer and they don't have a voice mail set up yet.

Okay, so how is this. In the event that it is closed, we wait for a bit for others to show and then head two city blocks south to the Cloak & Dagger at 394 College Street. I'll bring a note to put on the door in case of any latecomers showing up when we're gone.

The fire escape will be a handy place to dump hipster bodies.

if I had any tolerance for cold weather and lived anywhere other than new orleans, that statement right there would be all the reason I'd need to move to toronto. Have fun, y'all.

As always, a pleasant night with lovely people. Was good to get away from the January gloom!

Don't remember how many pitchers we got through, but I was broke when I got home. Those icy sidewalks were a fucking deathtrap, almost landed on my arse about five times along Bloor.

THAT MOVIE IS A MASTERPIECE OF SURREALISM and will one day be realized as such. BY EVERYONE. Don't take my word for it but don't dare to disagree. Or else it's an evening of horse-cock conversation, increasing in intensity until no one can bring themselves to look anyone else in the eye and we all feel ashamed.

As oldhat commented above, a pleasant night with lovely people. And hey, I was there, too. For once, I didn't make a jackass out of myself. (The Jackass Assembly is dead-simple, on most occasions, as anyone who's ever met me can well attest.)

There were at least ten pitchers. Probably more like fifteen. I was almost worried we didn't tip enough and then I realized "It was the Green Room. They're lucky if the rats don't steal the money off the table." They're lucky we graced their filthy establishment.

On to February, then! Here's hoping Icelandbob or Govspy will show up, as we revere them with a devotion and admiration usually reserved for wild-eyed cultists who are tattooed in strange places. (Like Cleveland. Zing!) We find your Kool-Aid delicious and would like to subscribe to your newsletter, sirs. (Sadly, they probably WON'T attend, due to pesky geospatial relationships being what they are. Oh well.) Once you see our documentary, you'll know how much we love you. Peace to you both, sirs.

This post was brought to you by the letter "BEER" and the number "SLEEP DEPRIVATION". For more information, consult your local library, while you still have one.

I don't know how many pitchers were had, but I know that last one too many was a bad idea.
It was my bad idea, but it was still a bad idea.

thank you to allana for ordering the water, it was much needed.

Also, can we not talk about Freddy Got Fingered ever again? Please?

    I ordered water?!
I'm just gonna go ahead and describe the evening as "magical." Can't really think of any other reason why I got home without incident, or how my knitting made it through without a single screwup.

I didn't mind the grime, it was the noise that got on my nerves. I've had quieter nights testing aircraft engines and playing with explosives. Fuck the Green Room and the loud hipsters.

We'll need to talk about food for Feb 18th fairly soon. I'm not game to carry a big pot of beef stew on the subway, I was thinking maybe a make-your-own-burger night where I can cook up the meat on site and everyone can go at it with the buns and other ingredients.

Yes, food! I was thinking that maybe we could do a potluck, wherein people bring littler things to share. As long as it's homemade; none of this went-to-the-grocery-store-on-the-way-here shit. I think we can aim a bit fancier than burgers, too; we're not all THAT skint, are we?
Stew and other wintery things sounds amazing. I might just spin up a batch of that myself. (Assuming winter starts by the 18th.)

Ian, since you already have the email addresses of the regular crowd, could you just forward the list to me so I can send out my coordinates?

Okay, I'll send you the Toronto mailing list this week.

You're asking a bunch of artists if they're skint? LMAO!
