I'll bring gin. Any particular brand or is it Rummy's Choice? I'd say something about Beefeater but do let's not be crude, shall we? Double entendres are so de trop. I don't mind gin but for me, it's purely medicinal and usually a summer drink. I'm far from a connosewer when it comes to the Crack of the 18th Century, even though, as a child, my only toys were my dad's discarded gin bottles. (True story. Explains a lot, doesn't it?)

I'll try to bring some sort of food, too. Like a salad or something. Maybe a dessert. Make sure you put at least two cans of Guinness (or your beer of choice) in the stew because that's the game and that's the way it's played.

What if we all bring gin? And then Allana has to drink all of it? That might be kind of fun, actually ...

@Hex e-mailed you my contact info a couple of days ago....I think I need to push the shoot a week...that doable?

@Everyone else- I can't cook for shit, but I'll bring something vegetarian.....maybe with extra tufu, as it seem to be well liked.

My brother in law is interested in attending; he loves comics and all the other trappings of nerd-dom, and he's an excellent cook like all the men who've married into my wife's family.

I'm based nearby TO in Mississauga and periodically need to escape to keep sane. I'd be similarly interested in meeting up with any Toronto Whitechaplains who wouldn't mind another geeky recluse joining the fray. :)

I'm a well rounded nerd with a sound/music obsession along with the usual movies/books/art/comics/gaming and am always up for meeting some fun new minds to converse with. If anyone wants to keep me appraised of what's what, I'd be grateful. Contact is my username (lowercase-nospace) @gmail.com

We love new minds to corrupt and/or enlighten. "The more, the merrier!" he said, grateful he wasn't the host.

P.S. - Bring gin. No cops allowed.

@ pete - yeah, sure, is good, is good. Got some idea-rs I'd like to shoot at you and y'all should tour the location. We'll talk.

Iron Imp, you're surely welcome to come out to a bar meet; we have them pretty much monthly now. As for inviting you to my house... not this time around.
(Sorry, everyone, I know Ian takes in all the strays - even me - but I am saving all my reckless abandon for the summer months, and the end of my tenancy.)

    @ Allana - No problem.

I'd be happy to catch up with you all at a bar meet in march, as circumstances permit.

    Howdy all

I'm bailing on tonight.... family thing has popped up.

@Hex, sorry, I know we were supposed to talk about the shoot, but this thing was totally unavoidable,
that said, I should be around the rest of the weekend if you want to talk/meet up about next week.

Didn't you say you had a bar guide?

The Green Room is okay as a shitty last resort.

PS - Hex - here's a link to the Batman arc written by Garth Ennis, that you didn't believe me about. It was called Freakout, and ran from issue 91 to issue 93 of Legends Of The Dark Knight, and was illustrated by Will Simpson.

@ grease - I never claimed to be an accredited Batmanologist. And now I never can claim to be. Batman By Garth Ennis?! That's Unpossible! I thought. Incorrectly, as you've so ably pointed out. Good show, sir! I look forward to clashing swords again with you!

Howsabout someplace cheap, as I am but a lowly mendicant?

We could drink at Alfies at Moss Park. Dirt cheap and probably very dirty as well.

I wouldn't mind going to Chinatown either. Loads of really cheap restaurants, and just around the corner from the Hot Box cafe.
