    The engagement ring came in!!! :) I tried to get a nice, artsy, interesting "this isn't an obvious engagement ring photo" picture of me wearing it but I couldn't, so here's a standard, cheesy picture of my finger. It's a conflict free, black diamond set in oxidized silver

    WOOOO!!! The Bjork Biophilia digipak I preordered in August, that I should have gotten in October, was FINALLY mailed to me. I e-mailed the store twice and they never replied, contacted them again a few days ago and a guy who said he just took over the online store management just contacted me to tell me that it has been shipped. Fucking finally.

    ring of awesome!!!!!!!!!

    So the boss found out about sabotaging annoying co-worker and was rather pissed- also found out no one likes annoying co-worker even boss person. Also my boss looks like Padre from John Carpenters Vampire$ and it makes me giggle. I told him as much (and that he even sounds like him) and he was rather jazzed. Finally no more over time.
    Going roller skating today (haven't been for a bit)

    on the down side someone graffitied our front step (way to ruin a historic building ass hats....) I've been scrubbing the past two days to get it off. Just poured half a bottle of mineral spirits on it. Anyone know how to get graffiti off concrete? other than paint over it.

    @comicBookBunny

    Apparently powerwashing can help out with that sort of thing, though if the building is registered as a historic landmark through the state or country, if you contact the people in charge of those records, they might help.

    @Argos - Damn, that ring is fabulous.

    A new friend of mine has just bought us tickets to see Shatner on Broadway this Saturday.

    @argos Gorgeous ring!

    Soooooo I was thinking that a client was trying to stiff me. Didn't get a cheque for last month's payment and have had all communication attempts ignored for a solid month. So I decided to take Drastic Action and e-mailed the client's mother. Three hours later and I was informed that the cheque was now in the mail and she was very sorry for the lack of payment. File that away in the "GETTING SHIT DONE" folder.

    Also today, for the first time in quite a long time, I really liked what I saw in the mirror. It might have been the powerful hallucinogens, but it was good to feel attractive in my own eyes.

    I think I just offended a Muslim inmate. I called him downstairs to receive his medication from the nurse.

    I told him, "It's a trap!" but he didn't get the joke... Inmate's name was Akbar.

    I have just realized the perfect bookends for my shows. Should be fun, and conductive to emergent structures...

    got a surprise raise at my job that I love and want to stay at forever.

    so that was good.

    i'm avoiding, but not effectively, facing The Big Hulking Debt of Doom because the plan, which is almost The Plan, is going to require a much better credit score than I have right now. So, that's good.

    Cheers to all and hopes for good days.

    I've had a shit day and a fairly shit week, but have just read my daughter's preschool report. There's a quote from her key worker from last October: "I asked Ruby what makes her happy and she said 'Daddy'".

    Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. No... there is no crying in Whitechapel but I may have got something slightly in my eye...

    @JP: That's adorable. I'm not normally one for kids, but that is cute as heck.

    @govspy: Sounds like tonight's the night... how'd it go, big fella?
