With Mr Spurrier's blessing, I'd like to draw your attention to our humble podcast.
It is called the MOMBcast, it's hosted by me, a guy called @JamesMOMB and a girl called @JaneMOMB (not related), and is an irreverent look at comics we liked that week. We also chat about whatever nonsense thing we comic people are talking about that week, and take turns to spotlight a comic we've loved.
We try to recommend stuff we enjoy, rather than crunch stuff we don't like under the weight of our egos. It's hard sometimes, mind.
We record/post every Thursday night (GMT) at MOMBcomics - the site about comics that the pod grew out of -
. (There are subscription links there too.)
Last week's episode was #121. Our spotlight book was I Never Liked You by Chester Brown.
You can listen to it and see shownotes here
(We're also trialling posting the show up at Soundcloud, if you prefer your podcasts graphically represented and like leaving contextual comments:
The show includes short contributions from anyone who wants to talk about comics. It makes for a fun and varied show, and anyone is welcome to contribute - 2-5 minutes audio to mombcast (at) gmail dot com.
We'd like to know what you think, either here, at iTunes, on mombcomics.com or at Soundcloud. If it's okay with everyone, I'll be posting in this thread whenever new episodes go live.
Thanks for your kind attention!

Extra added note: We're down a presenter on tonight's show, so any contributions will be extra welcome!
2-5 minutes on any area of comics that you have 2-5 minutes of stuff to say. As long as your voice is audible, sound quality doesn't have to be perfect. Mail it to mombcast (at) gmail dot com, and unless something is really drastically wrong with it, it'll go in #122!

Running a TINY bit late posting about episode #122 - but it was here:
Only two of us for this episode, and we talked about, among other things: New comics, the end of the collector, retail, Conan The Barbarian #1, Peanuts, and a brand new comic anthology that by coincidence I have a story in.
Our spotlight book was Brooklyn Dreams by JM DeMatteis and Glenn Barr. I was pretty nervous about this one, as I've talked to Mr DeMatteis on Twitter a little, and he's kind of a hero, but he's listened to the piece and was very kind about it.
Kehaar, of the Geek Syndicate show Dissecting Worlds contributed a piece about Judge Dredd and Judge Caligula.
I hope you get the chance to listen to our show, and if you like it - or even if you don't - please do leave us a comment or get in touch in one of the several places where we make ourselves available.

Wow, I'm shit at this. Absolutely failed to mention the last few episodes.
So, Soundcloud posts were a fail - I'd fundamentally misunderstood something major about Soundcloud! - and I'm trying to pay more attention to places like
for telling people about the show, but I've no idea how to manage this stuff, really - it's all just flailing in the dark, like an angry Bjork.
Still, our podcast is great fun. Episode #125 went up last Thursday, and in it we talk about the comics we bought, the London Super Comic Con, and the Bristol Stool Scale.
There are contributions from:
David "made of" Wynne - of COMICS! - on London Super Comic Con as a creator.
Kehaar - of the Dissecting Worlds podcast - on Johnny Red: Red Devil Rising.
And I spotlighted Luna Park by Kevin Baker and Danijel Zezelj.
Show and shownotes are all up here:
As always, I hope you get the chance to listen to our show, and if you like it - or even if you don't - please do leave us a comment or get in touch in one of the several places where we make ourselves available.
