I just, maybe three minutes ago, finished "ripping" my CD collection. Unless there are a couple of stray discs at work, all of my music is now in MP3 or Ogg-Vorbis.
More or less randomly picked American Pie to play in celebration.
Also put a set of 5.1 speakers on this computer. What a difference.
And now Baker Street. Which I'm old enough to remember first coming out. The Sax riff is so utterly fucking jaw-dropping amazing.
Went to a record store with a friend and picked up Anduin's Forever Waiting. Limited to 300 LPs apparently. Amazing record and glad I took a chance on it.
Not from this particular record, but here's a song done with Jasper TX.
New album by Liars, 'WIXIW', is pretty astonishing. A heady blend of solo Thom Yorke / 'Kid A' era radiohead, Basic Channel techno-dubscapes and Hot Chip-style indie-electro. I am falling in love with it... My second candidate for album of the year so far, up there with Death Grips - 'The Money Store'
Love, love, love that Derbyshire track. I did a mind-meld of it with Voltergeist's remix of DJ Krust's 'Warhead' at half-speed on this mix (starts at 1:01:48)
Nice one, Bram. I listened to a radio play about Delia Derbyshire yesterday. It hammered the point that she never felt appreciated. I'm sure she would have loved your remix.
