@J. Brennan, apparently in my theater, the one line the most people missed from laughing. -
I've got to say that I found Avengers to be the best superhero movie along with Nolan's, which aren't quite comparable.
Even beyond all the awesome big-budget action and seeing the comic books come to life, the script was just so tight. -

I just read part of this interview with the guy who plays Agent Coulson and I love this:Gregg explained his portrayal of the character as "just a guy grumbling about his job":
He's the guy who's tasked - a very disciplined guy in my opinion who possesses secrets that would turn your hair white - but at the same time he's tasked with handling these kind of diva superheroes, you know? "Oh, really, Asgard? Dude, just get in the car." -
Fricking loved Avengers.

So last night I saw This Means War.
It's a very silly film. If you can enjoy the ridiculousness of the set-up, the actors actually - surprisingly - pay off well. If you're a fan of Chris Pine or Tom Hardy, you'll probably enjoy it.
It's direction isn't great but hey, you're there for the extreme-bromance and, I say, take it with a pinch o' popcorn and it's certainly one of the best things McG's done.
Today I watched Chicken Run and, as always, Aardman made me laugh heartily. I hope there's an Aardman box-set out there somewhere. -

Oh indeed.There really is starting to be a cliche alien look out there nowadays. Vaguely gray, biomechanical, glowing lights. Stuff from a 7/10 FPS game which you play through in one weekend and never think of again. -

I fucking loved Avengers. Cynical douche I may be, but Whedon made a perfect action film that wholly lived up to the greatest Avengers stories. While it's not smart cinema, it's a dumb movie made smartly. Action directors should take note: the tension of the action is born from the characterization. The conflicts are well established and the character relationships make sense.
I'm the kind of nerd that looks to the future, sooo...Thanos means, to my mind, Captain Marvel. And Captain Marvel means Kree. And Kree means Skrull. I'm curious to see if they try and fit the Pyms or any of the other planned Marvel films into the next film. And hopefully Whedon will be on board. -

Okay, the UK distributor of Iron Sky is really fucking things up. They're going to show the film for just one day, which isn't actually what was agreed upon. Me and the film guys would really appreciate raising some noise about this, if you can be bothered. Revolver is SERIOUSLY fucking the Iron Sky people over with this stunt.See, when I started to work on Iron Sky, I wanted to make a cinematic experience, a film that works best when you sit in a dark room with 500 other people and watch, experience, laugh and enjoy as the epic story about the Moon Nazis unfolds in front of your eyes. Now, following the UK plan laid out by Revolver, the film is out in cinemas for only one day only (and that’s WEDNESDAY of all days).
I think this is an insult to us, the filmmakers who have been working with this film for six long years. We signed up with Revolver because we wanted to have a wide cinema release, and that’s what they promised us. But more than that, it’s an insult to all the fans, friends, followers, fan investors and everyone out there who’s been waiting all these years to see the Moon Nazi mayhem known as Iron Sky to hit the cinemas.

I wondered what was going on with the UK release. Have you guys tried sending this to Mark Kermode? I know I preach about him a bit but he does hold a lot of sway in the UK industry and if you can get him on side...well, who knows. Methinks he's on Twitter, as well. i'll be emailing Revolver today. -
