To me, one of the most compelling parts of the early comics, is when Carl shoots Shane. I don't mind change, that's the nature of the beast, it really helped give tension to the story. I'm sure the TV people felt that having a child kill someone would be too much, although I have a hard time defining 'too much' for what they have been broadcast so far. That's it, end rant.

I think he's been planning something before he even gave the Evil Queen/Regina the dark curse and we won't find out his true intentions for a long time.

Walter's nonsensical re-creations of 'this week's scenario' with toys and random rubbish bother me because of the amount of time they would actually take to set-up when he's usually on some form of time limit.

So, let me get this straight:
Jones' plan was having a Cortexiphan Kid on each side, one of whom activated the earthquakes by psi, connecting their 'vibrations' to their altverse counterpart, said connection providing the impetus for the world-merging.

OK, fine. It's Fringe, I'll jump the pseudoscience. But...

Why did nobody suggest finding the Cortexiphan Kids on one side and either transporting them to the other side, or just killing them?

Olivia knows all their names. There's six hours to find them. And they've already got Nick Lane in custody. At worst, it's sacrificing (or, if having them all on one side works, mildly inconveniencing) 27 people to save 14 billion.

This occurred to me as soon as Walter described Jones' plan. I'm certainly not as bright as a Walter. And it bugged me for the rest of the episode.

We knew Osama bin Laden's name and approximately where he was. It still took us nine years to find him. David Robert Jones seems to be written as being considerably smarter than Osama.

I assume they didn't just kill the Cortexiphan kids because they might still have a conscience? Walter & the rest of the Fringe team don't seem comfortable with "acceptable losses". It might make sense on paper, but it doesn't make for relatable TV characters.

Minor quibble: the Cortexiphan kids are only on one side, connecting with their counterparts on side two. Also, they'd have to actually find all of them. I don't know if being on a different side would make a difference, as they still vibrate at their own universe's frequency. As for killing them... I don't think the writers would have been willing to have the Fringe team do that.
