@celan - with incendiary writing like that, it's no wonder we have to contend with people crying out against the 'liberal elite' and calling for an end to college educations.

@Celan - the right wing have known this for decades, hence their continued assault on public education: the dumber people are, the more likely they are to vote against their own interests.

The Koch brothers feel that having put up the original capital to set up the Cato Institute and being entitled to a majority of the shares in the holding company that runs Cato, they own it and therefore should be able to od with it as the please.

Oddly, the deeply principled libertarians who work there feel otherwise. Apparently they feel they have some moral right to control the Institute which overrides the Kochs right to do with their property as they see fit.

Could tiny organisms carried by house cats be creeping into our brains, causing everything from car wrecks to schizophrenia?

    230% efficient LEDs

The LED produces 69 picowatts of light using 30 picowatts of power, giving it an efficiency of 230 percent. That means it operates above "unity efficiency" -- putting it into a category normally occupied by perpetual motion machines.

However, while MIT's diode puts out more than twice as much energy in photons as it's fed in electrons, it doesn't violate the conservation of energy because it appears to draw in heat energy from its surroundings instead. When it gets more than 100 percent electrically-efficient, it begins to cool down, stealing energy from its environment to convert into more photons.

So if we link it with a photocell that's more than 40% efficient and hook that back into the LED's power supply
then we have a perpetual motion machine.

Goodbye global warming, hello global freezing.

And your refrigerator will work better if the light inside doesn't go out!

And these things will power the EZ Bake Ice Cream Maker!

Every once in a while you hear a story of human sexual deviance so extremely left of centre that it literally blows your mind. It’s even more disturbing when you're there at the source, and can see the corroborating evidence for yourself...

No mention of Sharktopus nor Space Shark but it can only be a matter of time.

I'm slightly disappointed the piss dungeon wasn't more elaborate.

I was imagining a sealed room, with a man shackled to the ceiling, kept alive by intravenous drips. He's showered with the piss as it flushes down from above, and he's face down, so that he can watch as the room fills with piss, vomit, chewing gum and the remnants of blue urinal cakes slowly rise up to meet and envelop him over a matter of weeks.

During this time, the only company he has is his favourite childhood toy. A stuffed bunny called Mr Hoppy. But Mr Hoppy thinks Pissman has been a bad bunny. And won't even talk to him anymore. Except to chide him for the time he left his bike out in the rain that time as a kid and Daddy said it was pissing it down outside and the bike would be ruined. Pissman felt very guilty about that. His Dad died the next day so he couldn't say sorry properly.

Wood, considering he locked the fire door and caused pretty serioud dmaage ot the urinal, trespass, vandalism and public endangerment would probably be the obvious first charges.

The fact that someone spotted him through the urinal, suggests he was able to look up at peoplr as they took a piss so that's probably some sort of voyeurism offence.
