Warm weather is here, so I'm going through my second annual "Aaah! I have curves! And I don't mind showing them off! Aaaah!" shopping phase. Starting with a nice, red, form-fitting shirt.
And holy FUCK...I'm pretty much the same weight as I was last year, but I am HELLA more toned now thanks to the boxing. I'm really liking how I look.
And this caused me to look back and marvel at the fact that three years ago I was a size XXL and devoted to my baggy black t-shirts and jeans. And now I'm a size M and enjoy colours and form-fitting clothes.
Oh yeah, I found out I got an art scholarship for next school year today. I've no clue how much I get, but I'm pretty sure it's real small. Still. Money for my art!
Yesterday evening I did the first playthrough of my first IF game project. I've been faffing about coding IF games from since 2005-2006, but there has never been the time or the mental energy to finish the projects. Except for now. The game is still hanging together with spit and prayers, and the deadline for the competition I'm submitting it to is 6.4. Nevertheless, feels like a six year constipation is over. Much like it did last year at this time when I finally finished the first draft of my novel.
Done another film. Weather is nice. Someone got in touch with me on Modelmayhem about doing some shooting this saturday. Got another film to shoot as well as a nude stills shoot. It's all good. :D
Yesterday I hung out with Taphead! Hoorah! We drove around and ate food, and he witnessed the mundanity of my NJ dog sitting lifestyle with great patience. It was joyous!
Also, I got a check in the mail for overdue freelance work! Wheeee!!!
Also, feeling very teenagery: being in my home town, driving a car, blasting music from my CD collection which is all from the 90s, getting pulled over for driving at 1:30am and managing to not have the car searched by being polite and chipper, and possibly considering going to the MALL for the afternoon.
And btw, I really am not at all as sad and grim in person as my ranty open mic spewing would seem to indicate. I swear! Ask Taphead. (I just honestly don't have anywhere else to unload.)
Thanks guise! I've just gotten to the point of freaking out about money -- but it turns out McGill is not super expensive, and there might be some last-minute funding opportunities, too.
Perhaps that's my problem. My natural tendency is to be chipper and bouncy, so the hurting doesn't make sense and I never know what to do with the doomy bits that don't fit, except expertly contain, conceal, suppress, and explode. WHOOOGAH!
YES! Rachæl is definitely incredibly bouncy and fun, and totally awesome to boot! I'd love to do a road trip with her, as our musical landmarks seem to gel quite nicely. Toronto? (*ahem*) And New Jersey was actually surreal, what with the alternating terrible and preeeettyyy.
Am now on bus to Connecticut to see Jess, and looking out at Bronx, listening to tUnE-yArDs. Wheeee!
In Salt Lake City, where I think I've fallen in love with the local library. While the website hasn't been updated, looks like I am indeed in a writing workshop with Mort Castle at World Horror Convention. So both excited and terrified. In an hour or so friend I'm splitting a room gets in, and I expect we will take advantage of Salt Lake City's liberalized alcoholic beverage laws.
