    A fantastic start. I can't help but wonder though what's so bad about the water. Radioactivity from abandoned power stations? Sewage contamination? The crossed virus itself?

    I've been counting down to ole C-day for a couple of months, and C-day kicked the fucking door open! The comic is everything I was hoping for. I'm already fond of the narrator (even though I know it's not a good idea to get attached to any character in Crossed). Great setting-I'm Irish on my (now-deceased) mother's side, but have been too much of a pussy to actually travel there. Well-crafted writing, care and concern put into the illustration, AND all free! My Wednesdays just got a lot more entertaining (and sick).

    I was hoping that gore-wise, you wouldn't dip a toe in the pool and instead do a fucking CANNONBALL into it, and I sure as hell was not let down! Horrifying, fucked-up, offensive splash panel right on page two. That's not cool, my husband muttered when I showed it to him (I'm the horror fan in the family). All this for free-awesome, because I'm so broke right now I can't afford to pick up Badlands online. Thanks for being so generous to us fans (also, way more pages per week than I was expecting). Right on, Si!

    I'm sure someone will be along shortly to give official counts but I'm pretty sure this amount of pages was just for launch and we'll probably get closer to FREAK ANGEL numbers on the regular weekly schedule. We don't want to break poor Javier!

    It's off to a great start, but there was one detail that kind of stood out in stark relief to the rest- are all crossed females going to be porn stars who shave? I'll never disapprove of hot, naked, and crazy, but they didn't seem to fit in with the style of everything else.

    More a comment about a common convention of this genre than about this particular story but, infected or not, shouldn't people wandering stark naked around the Hebrides die of exposure pretty damn quick>

    On the subject of page count: what you got this week was 12 (print) pages, divided into 2 landscape "screens" per page -- so essentially 24 screens. You'll get the same amount next week, then after that we settle into the regular pagecount: 12 "screens" per week. So, yeah, basically the same as *Freakangels*. I'm hoping the half/half format will make it feel like a bit more, and the density of the story won't hurt either.

    Loved it!

    I am obviously far more warped than I realised though, as I didn't think it was particularly worriesome! Looking forward to more. (thinking that I should get over my horror-eurgh if this is such :-) )

    I'll put it down to years of magic... (that's my tale and I'm sticking to it!)

    (Oh, and having tried it out in various wireless ports around town, not blocked anywhere, including at the OU library)

    I'm liking it on the whole. So far, though, so zombie apocalypse. It's a story that has potential, but I'm hoping that the whole "Crossed" thing manages to do more with the concept than "zombie outbreak + dolphin lungfucking". What that is, I don't know yet, which is why I'm hoping :)

    When someone's infected with a virus, you don't want to, say, drink their blood. So when an infected dolphinfucker's brain matter is blown into the swirling water right next to you, it's a good idea to keep your mouth and nostrils closed.
