I found this video on Break.com
Members of the Westboro Baptist Church show up at a funeral to do their usual disgusting thing, but find a large and angry mob waiting for them, and are forced to flee for their lives.
Short but amusing video. I thought regular readers of Whitechapel might appreciate this.
I can't seem to post the video using the tool bar so heres the address anyway.

The world is a better place when the religious fanatics are the ones being chased out of town.

That crowd needs more pitchforks and torches though.

Seriously, how much time and energy is wasted protecting these nutters? Let them protest all they like and then experience all the repercussions thereof. I'm fairly shocked more of them aren't dead.

I never thought I'd be able to use the term "ran out on a rail" in casual conversation.

    Thank you, Internet.

I think the WBC people are right: If God existed the way he's said to, he probably would hate America and fags and whatnot. But the point is that if that is God, then he's an asshole. And if these people want to worship a complete asshole, everything they're doing makes sense logically. I just can't believe how fiercely people are able to believe in ridiculous concepts. And there's something extremely human inside me that wants to disembowel all of these people. I'll be so happy when they're all dead.

they should not be protected. that'd be much more fun.

Much as I champion freedom of speech, I was oddly gratified by this video, although I agree that the freedom to say something does not mean you can harangue people in their moment of grief and just toodle off afterwards.

@Cyman: yeah, their God is indeed a massive floating puckernode in space, and that is why they fear him and take their fright out on others by terrorizing people in vulnerable moments. Perhaps they hope that all the negative energy will placate their angry, petty diety. . . .

Sadly, they probably sued the local authorities for failing to protect their civil rights.

You're probably right, but that would go nowhere. If the cops made every reasonable effort to protect them, they're in the clear.

Though I'm sure the cops would have rather let them be beaten to death while taking snapshots.

It's an interesting line to try to draw between freedom of speech and just plain douche-baggery. Seriously, who protests a funeral? That's absurd. As much as I hate their decision to do it... I still support that they should have that choice. But I don't think they should be protected.
I like the Warren policy: You are free to say what you want, but also remember you own your words. And we own the arse eels. The should be free to say what they want to the same extent that the arse eels are free to ravage their innards.

Couldnt happen to a nicer bunch of religous fanatics. Maybe we can get Anonomous to satrt protesting them next once they are done with Scientology.

Yeah. I'm not totally happy about the fact that A. they're getting this much attention and B. some of the protesters broke their car window. However, protesting their protest is A-okay with me.

There's like 20 of these people, most of them are members of phelps own family. Not long back Warren posted a video link of them getting their children to sing hate "music".

While the lulz would be great, I can only imagine the signage they'd use, ultimately Phelps and company would be outnumbered 100 to 1.

Besides the Patriot Guard is an even better solution. Motorcyclist veterans with GIANT flags and bikes to block out the sight and sound of these apes. These are hard men.
