    Holy shit man, that second shot is so good. It's pin-sharp despite both you and your subject being in motion. Do you know what kind of hawk it is? It really looks like you had the ride of a lifetime - I'd definitely be keen to see more shots!

    @Osmosis, Roadscum Thanks a lot!

    Actually, that second shot was taken from the ground at Swayambhunath 'monkey' temple in Kathmandu. It's a Black Kite, and there were herds of the vicious bastards.

    I've been slowly but surely uploading more shots on my flickr (jethrostamps), including some of monkeys defiling a beautiful temple with increasingly lurid acts.

    The first shot I put here wasn't actually a hawk at all, it was a Griffon Vulture! Shows how much I know about flappers.

    @oddbill - that is a lovely shot - the softness of the light on her skin and hair really is splendid. Well done!

    Thanks! I'm editing a new round, so hopefully there'll be one a day for a little while.

    Similar to a previous shot. Probably not the last attempt at it.

    @oddbill - really interesting stuff. i'm fascinated that each picture so far seems to have a different sort of image-texture to it.
    @shannon - there's something very evocative about even just the phrase "abandoned golf course". always look forward to yr dispatches from New Orleans.

    @256 - it's because I am an amateur, and have no idea what is going to happen from shot to shot. Every picture is a new thing. The discipline, it is lacking.

    But sometimes it works.

    @256 thanks. one of the reasons that I love this town is because there's not a single block that doesn't have at least one thing about it that strikes an emotional chord or catches you off guard.
    I really like the texture on those flower images.

    @Joanneleah - That's really beautiful. Love the smoke and the colours and the model and all of it.
    @Oddbill - Bokeh nipple bars!
    @Shannon.gilly - Your stuff makes me want to visit more than ever.
    @256 - Definitely.
    @Dylanblues - Particularly like the netting window. Tantalisingly grungy.

    @Jehrot please do. just be warned, people who come here historically have a strong tendency to not leave.

    Hi guys,

    A new job is taking a lot of webtime and I just se that I missed a lot of marvels !!!! Amazing stuff ! Spring, starts great.

    I've got a photography/copyright trouble. Don't h├ęsitate to send me to the right Whitechapel discussion, if not here ...

    One of my pictures has been used by a large Dutsch newspaper "De Telegraaf", of course they didn't ask, and illustrating two not very 'respectable' articles.

    For now, I'm trying to check if it is only webbased or also printed.

    Did any of you already meet such a problem ?

    Or is there some Dutsch around who could have a look on the printed version. Here are the links to the two articles :

    Article 1

    Article 2

    Thank you

    @kieran - ugh, that's a horrible situation. I'm sorry I don't have any useful advice, but best wishes with getting this sorted out.

    Amazing stuff from everyone. Must be the spring. Thanks for all the kind words on the flower pix, by the way. Still feeling uncertain about this texture business, but it's interesting to play around with. Viz:
