@Flabyo: No, no, a shadowier figure than you're thinking, but someone who sure seems to like to meddle. It only occurred to me when I saw his name in the credits. I shan't say more than that because a) that's the kind of thing that comes back to bite you later and b) I'm worried that if I say his name three times it might qualify as an invocation.
It looks like Kickstarter is having another good day. Both Carmageddon Reincarnation (by the original team) and Two Guys From Andromeda SpaceVenture (notSpaceQuest, by the original team) launched. Both seem to be pretty easy to donate money/preorder, depending on how you like to think of it.
In less sure-fire Kickstarter news, I also tossed a few bucks towards Drifter. It looks pretty sharp, and I especially wish I could justify getting the fantastic poster.
I'm finally writing up my general, all-puprose Kickstarter article as well. I've been meaning to avoid doing that, but every time I see another Kickstarter article in the press I want to argue with it. One rant and I can have added my voice to the endless babble on the subject. But at least it will have been said.
Anyone interested in teaming up in the Arma 2 mod Day z? If you've never heard of it, it's a zombie survival mod, which looks like a fucking blast. Especially if you're part of a team. There's a great write up here, which sold it to me hook line and fetid, undead, sinker. It's free, and I picked up Arma 2 operation arrowhead (standalone expansion) for nine english pounds here.
I bit the bullet and digitally purchased Diablo 3 today. It took a few hours of hair pulling frustration to get the download to actually start working (I still have no idea what changed). The download is ticking over quite nicely now, though, and should be done with time to spare for the server launch.
Perhaps we should exchange some usernames or something? I have no idea what I am looking for in the Battle.net settings - so many different account names and arcane options.
certainly! WHat you're looking for, to connect with people without necessarily friending them is their "BattleTag" which is on the left side of the battle.net account tab.
I'm Sef#1628 (was Phill#1112, but felt silly running around w. my real name in a fantasy game, so changed it to my WoW nickname)
J.Brennan is Takshash#1532
And I suggested the hash tag #D3 for anyone else who wants to join in. :)
Going to roll a Witch Doctor. I love the Necromancer in D2, and from what I played in the beta the Witch Doctor is an more awesomer Necromancer. Spider jars my friends, spider jars, and flaming goddamn bats(mans).
EDIT: While waiting I'm installing Vornaskotti's game. Watch me ignore Diablo 3 and just play his all night, lol.
excellent! I have to work tomorrow (later today, heh), so won't be in until probably 7 or 8pm EST, but be in I will. Rolling All the characters at once, but my first play through will be Monk, since all my IRL friends are going DPS, I'm tanking, it seems (fine with me!)
The wife and I are shuffling all blues to her for crafting purposes. . . no need to have two blacksmiths half as far, ya know?
Really stupid question. Are the Battletags entered in game or in a web UI? Don't play many Blizzard games so I'm clueless. Can't find it in the web UI, so I'm assuming it's in-game.
Well, I had hoped that at the very least I could play some single player by midnight, but no such luck (I'd rant about DRM right now, but I'm honestly too tired). I'm going to bed; I should be on D3 some time tomorrow afternoon.
Think I'll wait on Diablo3 a bit, I seem to remember Diablo2 gave me hideous RSI injuries in my arm and neck from playing without moving for too long, hehe.
Decided I'll just stick with Max Payne 3 myself this week. Wasn't going to bother with that either, but the reviews combined with the frankly excellent trailer they had at the cinema when I went to see Avengers changed my mind.
