It annoys me that Blizzard uses their own ineffectual digital distribution method to release a game that they know will be extremely high in demand when there is already a very efficient system that can handle the stress and everyone who plays video games at all on the PC has been using for years.
I started playing Fez on xbox. It's so cute! One the one hand, I love that there are so many doors everywhere in the levels because it leaves me a lot to explore, but on the other, I hate it because I keep wanting to go through new doors before I've finished exploring and gathering everything in the current level I'm on, heh. But I am loving it. I really liked CRUSH when I had a PSP, so it's nice to have another puzzle game that plays around with 2D & 3D manipulation, but that is in a different flavor and still feeling fresh.
I tried logging in every now and then from 3amEST to 4amEST (with pauses for Vornaskottis game) but it seems I was playing Diablo 37, not Diablo 3. I mean big worldwide launch, it's to be expected, but still - I went to bed unsatisfied like a lonely housewife. It's working as of now (~1PM EST) so all is good.
Argos- get pen & paper handy. It may not seem like it now, but they'll come in very useful later. Fair warning. :)
Currently downloading Mini-Ninjas, because it looks cute for $4 on Steam today. I played Torchlight a year or two ago, that gets me covered quite nicely on that style of game for the next couple years.
@James Cunningham - good to know! I haven't gotten too far yet but based on what I've played I'm not surprised to hear that I'll be needing to take notes. Thanks :)
If Diablo 3 was on Steam, maybe someone would figure out how to enable Offline mode. Then you'd be able to play Diablo 3 offline like a pirate. You don't want to be a pirate, do you!?
In other, non #D3 related news, Zombies, Run! fills my black, liberal, progressive heart with joy. Two characters who are implied to be gay and the colony doctor is a D&D-playing lesbian. So awesome.
In other #D3 non related news, I finally finished Mass Effect 3 last night. I don't see why there are a lot of complaints about the ending. I mean, it wasn't anything spectacular but it wasn't the shitfest I was expecting. The theory that is going around is interesting though. If it does turn out there is going to be additional DLC that is paid for the "true" ending however...
@morac I changed my region to Asia and could connect and play. Created a Demon Hunter and opened my game to the public. Some people joined and we sped through most of the first Act....which I kinda didn't want to do, because I'm a stand around and look/click at everything player who likes to absorb the stupid little journals. I also liked my Witch Doctor a lot more.
just finished Space Marine, a fun wee blaster. Eyeing up Echochrome because the demo was grand. I do have Driver:SF, Dark Souls, Infamous and FFVII to finish....
