No worries! Also, links on the actual webpage should be fixed now. Over the next few days, we're going to get some more media together. If you guys want to submit some screenshots or other tidbits, we might just use them!

Played the last two beta weekends of The Secret World. Honestly, I can't make up my mind. It seems great, but I do have this niggling feeling that it won't work out, somehow. I played Anarchy Online back when it first came online, and I really liked some of the ideas they had, if not the execution on occasion, but I just can't tell with TSW. It *should* be awe-inspiring but I can't imagine it can actually hold up to the promise and potential it has. Ask me to point out what exactly feels wrong, though, and I am not sure I could...

Ah well, looking forward to it anyhow.

Hooray! Morac, if you need any help in the online whorMARKETING and I can help somehow, drop me a line! Going to try the game when I get home.

Can't wait to try it tonight! Though I have to admit, I'm reading REAMDE and a little paranoid. :P

Stan Lee is apparently a playable character in an up-coming Spider-man game.

Of course it's mostly just a skin over the model, but if the snarky lines are included that could be amusing.

Finally finished Mass Effect 3. I enjoyed it a great deal, although, I think I enjoyed playing the second one a little more. The ending didn't seem like something to get all bent out of shape about. I liked the idea of having to make a tough choice at the very end, personally. Now I have time to start tackling all the games I got in the latest Humble Bundle.

Edit: Make that, I'll have time to start playing the Humble Bundle games right after I play Morac's!

@Vorn and general RE: Marketing: Any marketing help would be greatly appreciated. This is our first game released as a company, so we have little to no market penetration. Reblogs, tweets, facebookening, slipping money to giant gaming magazines... anything you guys can do to help out would be amazing.

Also, side note: as I say, this is the first game we have made, so don't feel shy to tell me it's terrible! I need to know these things so I can be better next time.

I just tried out your game, Morac!
It looks great and the controls were smooth. I saw a few weird lighting issues, but nothing major in the time I played.

I was really enjoying myself when I suddenly started getting motion sickness. Ugh.
Nothing like breaking into a sweat and feeling queasy for no obvious reason. The only other game that's done that to me was the part in HalfLife 2 where you're in the boat. Just like then, it took a while to even notice, then a while longer to figure out the source. I'm kind of dense I guess. I will definitely give it another shot in windowed mode to see if that's safe once I give my stomach some time to stop trying to reverse engines.

@Sleestak: Glad to hear that you enjoyed what you played of it! I'm really sorry about the motion sickness thing (inflicting nausea was definitely not my goal with this game).

EDIT: Public service announcement time: I've had a report of the Mac version not working in a pre-Lion environment, and would deeply appreciate some feedback from the Mac-sicles amongst you on whether or not this actually runs. (I don't personally own a Mac, so the Mac version is entirely "push the build-for-Mac button and hope it works".)

Well Morac, I'm guessing the marketing part of game dev is working out, as I'm currently getting 'bandwith exceeded' on your link. :P

Yeah, unfortunately we didn't anticipate the bandwidth load letting people play the game in their browser would cause to our site. The download links on the previous page still work, though (for reference: Windows and Mac), as well as the IndieDB page.

We also have twitter and facebook pages for more up to date, err... updates.

There has been a little bit of embloggination going on - we got linked at FreeIndieGame.es, which is a blog run by the guy that made VVVVVV. Also, apparently some Russian sites have taken it upon themselves to to mirror Red Chasm (awfully kind of them). At this point, I think I've gotten more feedback in Russian than I have in English.

Of course, we would still really appreciate reblogs and general publicity - our success later down the line will be directly influenced by how well Red Chasm does.

Ooh, neat! The next Llamasoft game is a vertical shooter for, as always, iOS. It combines the gameplay of the classic Star Force with just a drop of Ikaruga, based on Boi Bumba festival about the rivalry between red and blue factions emodied in two oxen, Boi Garantido and Boi Caprichoso. Here's Jeff Minter's blog post for the specifics.

So, I don't know if you've heard of Artemis but my friends and I played it several times this weekend and it's pretty awesome. The graphics, as you can see, are pretty simplistic (reminded me of some space sims I had on my 386 back in the days of yore), but the role-play aspect of it, especially if you really try to do the full set-up, is a lot of fun. We only had five people so we doubled up Coms and Science stations for one person, which is good because in the quick-generated throw-away missions there's fuck-all for Coms to do (one of my friends who was with us works at Cryptic Studios and they have two rooms dedicated as "bridges" right now and he says that Coms gets more advanced with larger-scale, multi-ship, fleet-based missions). If you've ever wanted to have that sci-fi, bridge-crew experience, Artemis is awesome.

Anyone gonna get on some TF2 for the event? Meet the Pyro launches on Wednesday with the yearly massive update, and they've already announced a new game mode, and are going to announce more stuff over the next couple days (I imagine these will mostly be Pyro items, but I'm hoping for some cool new Engie stuff).

    @ted

I usually tend to hop on when TF2 gets big updates like this, though I very much miss the days when the item list was more stream-lined and balanced instead of being convoluted enough to literally have more damage effects than Diablo.

So, anyone going to download the extended endings for Mass Effect 3 then? (spoilers)
I hear they've added an amusing 'take a fourth option' to it which has annoyed some of my friends who hated the original endings even more than the original endings did... which I didn't think was possible.
  4.  (10587.359)
The take a fourth option is actually pretty legit. It's depressing as shit, but I kind of love it for how nihilistic it is.

I reject it in favour of Synthesis, though. With the new extended ending, Synthesis strikes me as the biggest "YOU WIN!!" out of all the endings.
