    I subscribe to the Readery's newsletter, and this caught my eye. I won't be in Munich on the 21st, but thought it might be of interest to folks on here.

    Join us Saturday, April 21 at 19:00 when Ilike Merey reads from her
    graphic novel, a+e 4ever. Ilike Merey is a Hungarian American
    writer who lives in Munich.
    This will be a multi-media event combining reading with projected
    images.
    Asher Machnik is a teenage boy cursed with a beautiful androgynous
    face. Guys punch him, girls slag him and by high school he's developed
    an intense fear of being touched. Art remains his only escape from an
    otherwise emotionally empty life. Eulalie Mason is the lonely, toughtalking
    dyke from school who befriends Ash. The only one to see and
    accept all of his sides as a loner, a fellow artist and a best friend, she's
    starting to wonder if Ash is ever going to see all of her.... a + e 4EVER is
    a graphic novel set in that ambiguous crossroads where love and
    friendship, boy and girl, straight and gay meet. It goes where few books
    have ventured, into genderqueer life, where affections aren't black and
    white.
    a+e 4ever has received the following awards and recognitions:
    * Named a Stonewall Honor Book for 2011 (for outstanding
    lesbian/gay/bi/trans fiction for young adults)
    * Named as one of the top ten best books in gay literature for adults for
    2011 on the American Library Association's 'Over the Rainbow' list.
    * Named one of the top ten best graphic novels for youths by 'Booklist'
    for 2011
    * Nominated for two lambda awards (for best bisexual fiction/best young
    adult fiction)
    * Nominated for the Amelia Walden Award (for positive books for
    adolescents)
