London Zoo: Visiting LONDON: Art Galleries?

    Hello All

    I'm planning a trip to London England this summer and was wondering if anyone knows about the Art Gallery Scene there. Particularily I'm interested in contemporary galleries that exhibit emerging and mid career artists. You know cool strange stuff, not big museums. Here in Toronto we have three streets and a big building where the interesting galleries have huddled, I don't know if London has anything like that. If anyone has any advice on the subject it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

    Falls under the category of "big museum", but I'd still recommend the Tate Modern.

    The Camden Arts Centre is always good for a punt on contemporary art projects...

    Also, and I don't know if it's really your speed, The Estorick Collection is one of the best collections of contemporary Italian art in the world and definitely a must-see for anyone visiting London. Unfortunately, not many people get to hear about it...

    Thanks Everyone! This is exactly what I was looking for. Looks like it's going to be an exciting trip. I won't be there until mid-july but I'll put up a meeting/drinking and gallery hop thread when the time comes. Thanks again!
